I've dealt with anxiety for the last 10 years, but lately, it seems to be getting worse. I have:
-constant fear of something being wrong with me. Terrified of going to the doctor, fearing to hear the worse. constant worrying and thinking about it.
-panic attacks w/racing heart, feeling like I might hyperventilate.
-extreme irritability
-sad
-bored
-wake up at night jittery, hot

I forgot to add:
-constant "what-if" thinking
-some stomach issues

Hi There:
I see that you registered here in 2006.
I am wondering if you have the program.
I am so sorry that you are having a really bad time. I hope this turns around soon.
I think that the program would help you even if you had to work at it for a second or 3rd time.
I've been where you say you are. I know that you can get better.
Start with the relaxation cd again if you have the program.
Blessings as you go forward.
You can go forward.
Keep posting. Let us know how you are progressing.

i have been dealing with anx/dep for 20yrs. I know how u feel. Sometimes u wonder if this is how it is going to be. But, the program, therapy, and if needed medication can get u on the path to less anxiety. I still deal with anx, but, I am better at handling it, I dont get scared of the anx anymore. That itself has been huge for me. I do take meds and they help. So hang in there, use the tools that are available and it can get better(not always perfect, but better)... God Bless

Hi Cornflower & Weakeye,
Thanks for the feedback. Yes, I do have the program. I recently moved, & I know it's in a box I haven't unpacked, but I know it's here. I plan to take the day tomorrow to find it. Things have gotten so bad w/my relationship. I know I'm driving them crazy, & I feel so bad for being so impatient with my 2-year old, who I absolutely am in love with & adore. I want to get back to the program right away. Oh, as far as meds, I'm on Buspar & Xanax.

TVgirl... have you been checked for thyroid disorder or other hormonal irregularities? If your symptoms are caused by hyperthyroidism, there is medication that can help you feel completely normal. Do you have insurance that offers ask-a-nurse hotlines? That could be a first step for you to see a doctor...

Thanks everyone. I feel like I'm depressed BECAUSE I worry all the time. I'm convinced that I have severe health anxieties, & have for some time. I can't seem to shake it. I'm off to find my program so I can get started.

Also, to Arwen, yes, I'm also getting tested for hormonal irregularities. I've had recent issues w/fibroids, & my dr said now that I'm 40, I may be beginning to experience some hormonal changes. so, we'll see.

I'm thinking that your anxiety is probably being exacerbated by your hormones. You are probably perimenopausal but keep in mind that hormone levels during perimenopause can be normal at times so hormone tests don't always give you an accurate picture of what is going on. I'm 40yrs old and was just told by my doctor that I am in perimenopause and it can last 10 plus years!!
