I have had insomnia for the past week now. While that may not seem a long time, it seems like decades to me.
I work shiftwork (7am-7pm for two days, then 7pm-7am for two days, then four days off.)
For the last week, I have gone to bed between 10:30 - 11:00, and ALWAYS wake up at 3:30am, and CANNOT get back to sleep.
I have recurring anxiety attacks, amd the insomnia isn't helping!!!
I DO NOT want to take any prescriptions for it, But I heard of a natural supplement called 5htp.
Wondered if anyone has tried this, and what the up and downsides are.
Any comments would be helpful.
Thanks

What's up Dave? I was struggling with insomnia a few weeks ago. Somebody recomended GabaCalm and MyoCalm. I found some GabaCalm at a healthfood store and it's workin beautifully. I didn't want any prescription meds either. This is herbal with no side-effects. Check it out.

I took the 5htp years ago and it didn't do anything at all for my insomnia but made me terribly tired the next day. I've read that the melatonin is good for people who work shift work though.
