I am not sure that I have the same thing because mine is not at night but I have difficulty swallowing during the day! I can have food in my mouth and go to swallow and I just can't! It is really hard because I have to literally bring it up from my throat if it slips down instead of just swallowing. I have had the fear of choking so I think that the though comes into my mind without realizing it and then I can't swallow. I hope that you get better and u can get through this.

From an anxiety point of view, this can be extremely scary and frustrating but you have to kinda let that feeling be and well, don't fight it. I've had this and the feeling like my throat was tight or something. Sometimes, we I am stressed out, I'll swallow alot also. It varies.
It probably is just anxiety, but since it's happening at night for you is it when you are lying in bed or just in the evening in general? Because lots of people have acid reflux and that can become a problem at night when they are lying down and stuff. Either way, try your hardest to not get scared or anxious about, although I know too well how weird it feels.
