I thought for the longest time that light issues were just in my head, but certain lighting patterns can trigger a panic attack for me. Does anyone know if this is actually a physical thing--like my eyes let too much light in or something. I always feel much more stressed in a bright unnaturally lit room. My first panic attack came when I was twelve and I remember the light playing a role in that--it was flourescent lighting and it was dark outside.

Sometimes I get panicky in stores with bright florescent lighting too. I don't know if it causes the anxiety or not, but it's kind of weird you experienced a similar thing.

I work in bright flourescent lights and they bother me really bad too. Lately more than ever. They give me headaches which of course will sometimes lead to the panicky thinking of well, do I have a brain tumor, etc. Sounds kind of stupid as I am writing it, lol.
