What has been your experiences with affirmations? I was listening to an affirmation CD and decided to make my own affirmation tape of my own affirmations. Now, I can listen to it in the car. Been doing this for a couple of days and already it seems to help. If listening to so many negative statements is a major cause of anxiety and depression, doesn't it make sense that hearing more healthy statements would be a key to recover?

I find them really helpful along with guided imagery and self hypnosis tapes. I bought a new one recently by Deepak Chopra. I usually listen to them when I go to bed, and they seem to have a positive effect on my thoughts the following day. That's a good idea to make your own - I just might do that too.
