First of all can I wish you guys a very Merry Christmas.

I am usually good at positive self talk, its got me through my snxiety and I have been doing great but I can't find anything positive about this Christmas.

Firstly I have a bad cold and feel rotten and depressed and also quite anxious.

Secondly you know when your partner asks "What do you want for Christmas" Its polite to say "Aw I don't need anything" well she took it literally and hasn't bought me anything, so nothing to open tomorrow, I bought her :(, She never bought me or the kids anything as she has no money, yet she had enough to buy her Mum and Dad and sibblings, I mean I thought you put your own family first but maybe I'm wrong.

Then to crow it all off, I am off work now for 2 weeks for the holidays, Work made a mess up with pay and I am now skint until the 5th January.

Not to mention the family member coming around tomorrow that I really don't want to see,

Hmmm help me find some positives fast!!

Lets see.......you're alive, you have family and a partner, you are not alone, you have a job, oh yeah, and YOU ARE ALIVE!!!

Just remember - Christmas is about Giving, of yourself to others - do good and you'll feel good. You may not get immediate recognition for your efforts but it will come in one form or another. Just have faith.

So I know what you mean, Christmas is about giving but we'd all be lying if we said we didn't like opening a couple presents in the morning, Especially if everyone else is. So that is bummer, but just try to find something you are thankful for, surround yourself around positive people and just try to relax and find the liver lining, it might be hard with the depression and anxiety but the only thing that's going to help is trying.
