Yes, I have gotten hives ever since I was in junior high. Mine were definitely caused from anxiety and times of higher stress. For me as I've gotten older the outbreaks have happened less and less and are now almost nonexistent. Luckily, they were always located on my fingers and I didn't break out with whole body hives. They were however a bit painful, itchy and somewhat embarrassing. I even woke up on my wedding day with both pinky fingers covered in red itchy bumps. I can so empathize with you.

I have had the hives for three miserable days.
All over my body!
It is like they come and go but never completely leave.
Ny hands feel like they were bitten by fire ants. my face, neck, and whole body is just red blotches.
I went to the emergency room twice and my doctors twice in three days. They perscribed my prednisone, tagament and Hydroxine.
The doctor said I need to chill out so he also upped my xanax to .50mgs.
It is miserable. I have ahard time believing this is from ANXIETY!
I keep praying for help!
But these past three days have been bad for me.
Thanks for any advice or comments!

I had an allergic reaction to a medication I was taking during the summer. I was also put on steroids and benadry. I was given a shot of cortisone. The hives did last for almost a week. :( Try really hard to stay calm because you getting upset will make the hives worse. Could it possibly be an allergic reaction?

My friend would get hives when she was really stressed..
I am sensitive to all detergents and laundry soap with fragrance, bath soap, etc.
Any chance of that?

I am not sure what casued them. I only know that I am afraid of the feeling that comes with them. It is almost like I get a rush of adrenalin and bam! I am peppered in red blotches!
It is really hard to deal with. I thought maybe it was my laundry soap, so I re washed all my clothes in a double rinse cycle.
But I do apreciate you all taking the time to post ...
Thanks!

My son used Benadryl when ever he has a reaction to something that makes him turn red. ichy and bumpy. It is over the counter Benadryl. It works great for him. It does however make him a bit drowsy.

I have just recently developed hives, come and go, some itchy, some not. They are only on my "trunk", meaning just my sides, back, etc. I am tapering off of Klonopin, and I can't help but wonder if maybe its withdrawal. I've NEVER had them before, and I've tried to think of anything I've changed like soap, detergent, etc. and haven't. Oh well, this too shall pass!

Want2FeelGoodAgain,

My son developed it out of nowhere. He was not coming off any meds what so ever. The hives just showed up one day. Yea they come and go, but on thos days they are there they are very itchy for him. Like I said before he has to take Benadryl for them. They go away right after taking the over the counter Benadryl. But there is NO real reason for them coming to my son. They just "come" and "go".

I used to get what my doctor called idiopathic hives. They had no realy reason for coming other than stress in my life. Since then Ive been on Allegra (oral antibiotic) and I have not had another epidsode its been about 4 years if not longer. You might want to try an antihistamine. They helped me tremendously.
Knock on wood that they continue to help me.
Good luck
