I have had this problem with dizziness all day long. I am guessing it is due to anxiety. I had an MRI of my brain back in Sept. and everything was normal. But I still cannot convence myself that theres nothing wrong. I cant turn quickly or look down at certain times because I feel like I am going to fall over. My body gets very heavy at times and I just want it all to go away. Please tell me this is a symptom of anxiety or am I just going crazy?

Have you had your ears checked at all? If not, you may want to go see an ENT just in case. While dizziness is most definitely a symptom of anxiety, you might want to rule out ear issues as well along with allergies. I had a bout of dizziness for well over a year several years ago. The first thing they checked on me was my ears...I had a test called ENG which when they put wires on your face and put you through all sorts of visual tests (follow the red dot) type of thing then they will either blow cool and warm air or put cool and warm water in your ear and see how you react. Sounds a lot worse than it is. At any rate, its worth checking out. I ended up just having an allergy...go figure.

I had this same problem two months ago in Jan. when I started this program. Now it's gone. It was much better in Feb. when I got through lesson three. Now it is all gone . I'm on lesson eight now.--- it's is mid march.
This is how I did it.
I listed Lucinda's recomendations by revewing each tape to picked out the important ones "TO ME" . Then made a list in my own words which I can review several times a week.
I also review the list during the day if I feel the sensation coming on.
Plus I use the " relaxaion Tape" during the day and at night before going to bed. I also use this tool during the day if I feel the dizzyness coming on. It comes naturally after these eight weeks and is "my" solution to this problem. Keep at it. Lucinder is right.

That is my main symptom with the anxiety is dizziness. I have it all the time chronic. If you want to talk please feel free to pm me anytime. I do find the breathing helps and I will also try what Don say's haven't tried that before but it is worth a try. I know it is a terrible symptom sweetie but I can promise you one thing you will not fall over or faint, I have had it for a long time now and although it feels like it, it won't happen. Try your breathing as well the one I told you about before.
Love ya
Mimi

I've had my share of dizziness in the past. whether it was just standing up to quickly or a sudden onslaught of everything spinning. I found sitting or lying down with my eyes closed did the job best, or just fighting it like we do everthing else. Anyway, good luck and feel good!!

Hi Ashlynn.

This is called lightheadness that you are describing and I had it for at least 15 years. It is an anxiety symptom. This is not a spinning sensation. It's more like an extremely off-balanced feeling. I usually tell people that they have to decide NOT to be afraid of it for it to go away faster. That was how I finally got rid of this symptom. But people, as I too thought, "This is crazy. How am I NOT going to be afraid of this?". I now tell them to do the relaxation tape more often because it helps, too.

As in the program Lucinda says that we have to stop being afraid of the body symptoms, and that is a body symptom, for them to go away. That's what I did to get rid of the lightheadness. But you need to do the program to learn how to calm yourself down and to use positive self-talk to get rid of the fear.

Funny, I just got back from the chiropracter and mentioned how severe an episode I had last week. It was the weirdst thing. I not only felt dizzy, I totally was leaning way over to my right side and could hardly walk! I felt like a drunk! I was heading to the bedroom and ended up grabbing the wall to keep me upright. I got up in the middle of the night and felt the very tippy feeling as well. It was awful. I decided, forget this, I'm going back to bed and staying there. I'll better in the morning and I was. The chiropracter had no answers other than sometimes it could be caused by an infection in the body passing its way out, which it did thankfully. Never had it before and hope not to ever again.

Ashlynn,
I also feel dizzy ALOT and I constantly think something is wrong with me also. However, recently, just last week I went to my Dr. and he said I had an inner ear infection. The dizziness still hasn't went away even though I'm taking the med he gave me, it has lessened though. At night sometimes when I feel the anxiousness & dizziness coming on I put a lukewarm or cool cloth on my face and it seems to help.
