Hello, everyone! This past week whenever I have tried falling asleep I get a "rush"/falling sensation feeling to my head as I try and relax. Sometimes it feels as if it is coming from the pit of my stomach on up. When I wake up, I feel as if I have stopped breathing for a second, and I just feel weird in my head. I have had "falling sensations" on and off before, but this sensation has gone on too long. I keep feeling these things while I am asleep, too, and I am almost convinced something is wrong with me. I am exhausted. I have had one good night's sleep since all this began, but otherwise, in my sleep, I get that sensation -- it seems like over and over, but I am hoping that my mind is playing tricks on me here. Then, during the day, I feel "fuzzy" in my limbs, and almost like a need to stretch all the time. I am so darn tired! I am afraid to go to sleep now not certain what the night will bring -- worrying I will be rudely awakened a short time later with these weird sensations, or just experience them. What is wrong with me THIS time?

I don't know what's wrong with you but your best bet is to welcome the sensations in. Get curious about them instead of resisting them. See what's going on. It's probably just feelings from anxiety, from resistance, but learn what you can about them and share your experience. Journal it. Once you get curious about these feeings they will probably disappear.

I get that "feeling" too and I think it's Adrenalin. I've heard it discribed many ways, but all too often it's discribed as like a "rush" or perhaps like riding in a car and you go down and real steep hill..you know that feeling you get??? Well, when I'm having panic attacks, that is usually the first signal. I wouldn't worry about it too much, do as Boon suggested. Don't resist it really, just float with it. It's the anxiety, believe me!
Take care, keep your chin up, this is only temporary
God bless you
Robin

Hi Wiskersonkittens
I suffer from fatigue ( chronic) and I take Malic Acid for my muscles, with magnesium. If I don't my muscles feel like I have to stretch my muscles all the time. I have been taking it for many years. If I miss a few days, my muscles always remind me that I forgot to take it. Maybe it can help you too. My arms and legs felt tingley and fuzzy until I got some meds. I take Xanex now for acute panic attacks and it makes me sleep real well. Take care and feel better, Leah

I can totally relate to your post!!! Here are some links to previous posts i wrote and another someone else wrote and I replied to. I think many people feel this sometimes. It has gone away for the most part for me. But, i did experience it 2 nights ago and It felt so uncomfortable but i knew i could handle it. And soon you will be able to brush it off.

Thank you everyone for responding to me, and for your reassurance. I feel like, "Here I go again!" And maybe that is the best thing for me to do because it makes me realize that I have walked through many o' sensation tunnels and came out of them on the other side unscathed. Holly, thank you very much for the links to the previous posts! I didn't realize so many people experienced this sort of thing. As you know, when we experience these things we feel we are the only ones and no doubt on our death beds. I find it comforting to know neither is the case. :) I am pleased to say that last night I didn't have any problems! I went to play practice, and when I got home I just watched some TV until I fell asleep. It brought such relief. I hope this new sensation of actually being able to sleep is the one that lasts! :D Thank you again everyone. I appreciate the support. My best to you! Hugs! Wiskers ~

I've recently had some of the same sensations. It's like a quick "zing" for me as I'm almost asleep. Something zings either in my chest or head (I can't pinpoint it) and wakes me up. It's the oddest sensation. Never had it before, so of course my anxious mind thinks the worst. But I haven't had the sensation for a while. Just happened like 3 times or so. I started back with my relaxation tape at bedtime, so maybe that has helped. Good luck to you all!

i've had that "falling" sensation, before.

and both times, they coincided with me lying down, and closing my eyes to go to sleep.

I have also had these sensations. I have noticed that I feel these after a day that I have felt particularly anxious and have tried to work through it. I had these sensation again last night....I am trying to just tell myself this to will pass, its just anxiety and I will leave the t.v. on or listen to soft music until I fall asleep. Rest assured you are in good company.....I am glad you slept better last night.
