Hi jp4life87,
I do not take any prescription meds anymore...it's been 4 months since I stopped all meds. Along with changing my diet..eliminating all sodas, sweets including chocolate, ice cream, candy, sugar, processed foods, caffeins, refined foods, etc. which made a big difference I now take daily,
Calcium with magnesium and zinc= aids in sleep and stomach problems
vitamin C = along with the calcium aids in sleep
Vitamin D,
SAM e, for mood
Macafem.
I went from insomnia to sleeping at least 8 hours a night, i have far more stamina and am not fatigued at all during the day now. I suffered for years with heartburn and acid reflux even on script drugs...nothing now!!
I will be adding different supplements over the next 3-6 months.

What has helped me is Passion Flower extract, calcium along with the magnesium, B12 and B6 sublingual liquid, and Omega 3 fish oil liquid.

I had ask my pyschiatrist about taking natural herbs and things. He said that it wouldn't help. He said that the anti-depressents and anxiety meds were alot more stronger than the natural remedies. So I was wondering do any of you take prescription meds along with the natural remedies??? I want to get off of the meds. but I really don't know how to go about it. Has anyone got off the meds while changing to natural remedies??? I would much rather go the natural way if at all possible.

Hi there,
I have been off of all depression meds for 4 wks now. I am weaning off my sleep meds (down to 1/4 pill).
In it's place I have put exercise DAILY.. I cant do 3 times a week, I have to do each and every day at least 25mins. This makes a huge difference. I am also taking a multi vitamin, Calvium w/vit D, vit c, magnesium/potassium, zinc, 5HTP, L-Tyrosine, an herb called Calm Spirit (from my acupuncturist) and melatonin. I'm sure there is something else in there LOL but those are the main ones. Oh yeah AND Omega 3-6-9. After I've been doing well for awhile. I'll think about cutting out some of them, but for now I dont eat healthy enough either.. my next goal is off of all sugar! I've cut out caffiene and had some yesterday and I'm a mess again today!
GL!

It's amazing how some people swear by natural stuff and how others say it does nothing. The funny thing is, both seem to be right. I guess the thing is to try them both and see what works for you. The natural stuff didn't help me when I tried it years ago. The meds have allowed me to make it this long. Maybe I didn't try the right things years ago and there's something out there for me. For now I'm sticking with what works for me.
I am going to try some vitamins someone suggested to maybe boost myself up even more.
I may try the program again and see if it helps any as well. Hell, I may go nuts and even try the exercise thing again.

Hi
I eliminated all processed foods from my diet and my mood is so much better. I am less depressed and much less anxious. I eat foods that resemble how they are found in nature. For example, I eat rice, potatoes, oatmeal, fruits, vegetables, meats, fish, eggs and beans.
Anything that doesn't look like the original thing in nature I won't eat. Foods that I avoid are bread, pasta, pizza, pastries, lunch meats, candy, goodies, cheese, ice cream, milk. These foods are over processed with a lot of additives and chemicals.
