I have this constent tingling around my head and face and sometimes down my shoulders. I just blame it on my anxiety. It seems like all my anxiety stores in my head, neck, shoulders, and jaw area. I have extremely tight muscles and everytime I get really anxious or stressed or upset I tighten all my muscles in my face head and shoulders. Does anyone else have tingling in this area? It is making me more anxoious.

Yes! That's where I store mine, too. I have spent more times than I care to admit going to the doctor over this. Now I just accept that - as you said - it is just anxiety. It almost feels like "cramping" in the head.

Me too!!!! I actually get tingling or a heaviness in my left arm. Of course I think it's a heart attack but this has been going on for a couple of years! Massage ALWAYS helps but they're so darn expesnsive so my hubby will give me a shoulder rub when I'm especially anxious (which is every night!

) I notice when I feel this tingling/heaviness, I'll focus on my neck and shoulder muscles and my shoulders are practically touching my ears!!!! As soon as I completely relax, the tingling goes away! hmmmm... anxienty? stress? I bet on YES!!! Take care!

A tip?
I store my stress in my neck and shoulders. I would get migraines and pressing tingling pain between my eyes.
I bought one of those bags you see vendors in the middle of shopping malls selling, the ones with the herbs in it that you store in the freezer and can microwave to warm.
Whenever I feel this way I lay down and place the cold bag on my eyes. It helps a lot.

Ashlynn, I have the same exact tension in jaws and at the top of my nose. It's definately anxiety. What else could it be? I have noticed the less I worry the less it happens and when it does I just do my breathing rub the places that feel the most tension. I try and reherse the relaxion cd in my head. It seems to help. I'm sure the better we get the less we will feel tension in our faces. I know it's really uncomfortable. Thanx for bringing this up I thought I was the only one who had this intense feeling in my face.

Wow! I am so glad I'm not the only one out there with this problem. I dwell on it so much that I think it makes it worse. Thanks to everyone for your help.
Cap77,
What is breath rub? Does it work?

I just do my breathing like in the relaxation cd and at the same time just kinda gently massage my face where ever I feel the tension.

I have been trying to be more aware of my body and what it's doing when I start having those feelings and, like Celeste1, 99% of the time my shoulders are nearly touching my ears and my jaw is clenched. I don't even realize I'm doing this. Once I let that go, slowly the sensations of the tingling, etc., starts to slow down as well.

Went to the doc today for that same thing. Got a Toradol shot and some Flexoril. Going to physical therapy starting next week. Also doing trigger point injections in April.
Oh, by the way, numbness and tingling down arm. Severe spasms in back on left of spine and shooting, pounding pain down the shoulder and left side of spine.
