Okay I'm on week 5 and while it does seem to be getting better, I get so frustrated while listening to the audio sessions. Both Lucinda and the doctor (can't recall his name at the moment) will be like "well this is what the program is for". Yeah thats why I bought it!! I especially felt that way with the first session and had to force myself to continue to the second week.
I also am not fond of the group session part of the tapes but understand how this might help some other people. I think they could spend more time on the how instead of the fact other people have recovered. Anyone else feel the same?

Hi Heather
Yes I understand, I had some of those same thoughts. I am naturally skeptical and they definitely are marketing their program within the program. I guess we each need to decide if the program has content that we can use to make our lives better or not. I do not mind the hearing the suggestions from people who have been through the program. I have found that some things stick with me. And I like the online peer group as it fits into my lifestyle right now. Personally I am finding it very supportive, but I have also done alot of "emotional work" already in my life, as well as taken medication for 20 years. I have managed my depression pretty well alot of the time. We get out of things what we are able to invest. I do not know whether this helps or not, but hope you have a good day!

I can remember them doing it on that tape but I don't think they do it too much. It's funny, I guess everyone is different because it's the goup session that I like to listen too. I think the homework and the journal are probably the most helpful but they are the hardest to do because I get lazy sometimes.

Hello Heather~I understand you are in frustration right now, and I do realize where you are coming from. I must say I found the group sessions very helpful down the road.

I found Carolyn very helpful. She is a great example. At first I thought they were maybe just pushing their vitamins and such, then I found that good nutrition and vitamins are very important. I use over the counter vitamins, and they havn't pushed theirs at all.

Don't give up.

I think they could spend more time on the how instead of the fact other people have recovered.
It is these "other" people who have been through what you are going through and their thoughts during the group sessions can help you and anyone going through the program better understand the thoughts and behavior changes necessary to recover. The same applies to this forum. Those who are recovered can help those on here who are struggling. It's the same principle. It is the "how".

I've gone through the program and am currently reviewing it again and I really don't feel like they're trying to push "their product" as much as they're trying to reassure you that you're at the right place. Everyone's case is so different and while we are all just a little bit the same with anxiety and or depression, we all have such different cases. I feel that they say why they've developed it and what it's for, is to touch everyone who is listening and doing the program, to make them feel that their in the right place. I don't know, maybe I'm the only one who feels like that but whenever I felt discouraged or wondering if I'm on the right path that they have reassured me that I'm going down the right road.
And, sometimes I feel annoyed by the group sessions, but there again, I think they want to share with you others experiences to let you know that you're not alone and that everyday normal people have this condition and also for hope and for a goal because if they did it, so can we. It made me feel better to see and hear the other people on the tapes and videos, to see that they are real and they have overcome it. Know what I mean?

I agree with the original poster about the constant mentioning of the program. I find it completely distracting. It's literally stopping me from wanting to listen to the CD's

I am not sure which Sessions you are on, I will tell you all of them doesn't reassure you as much. I think they are telling you that in the beginning to make sure you don't feel questionable about if you are needing this.

While I can't say the program is for everyone, I will tell you that it has be a saving grace for me.

Good luck to you all

I didn't really notice that there were ads ? ! ? I would agree with AnnetteW, the program has saved me; rather, it has shown me that I can save myself. I hope you can overlook this and find some valuable material. If not, well, don't stop looking for the assistance to heal and help yourself. It is out there! Good luck.

Take what applies and leave the rest. Don't get bent out of shape about what doesn't seem to fit you, it may fit someone else.
