Hi, there. Is it just me or are mornings the worst?
I wake up and I just am anxious. I am anxious all morning and my mind races. By the afternoon it seems to settle down a bit and I like evenings the best.
Everytime I start to get a panicky "what if" thought, I try to tell myself either, it's just anxiety and it will pass or "Oops. I don't do that anymore!" and it does help, but still I find myself having to do it more and more in the mornings.

I am more anxious in the mornings as well. I figure it is because I am by nature a night owl and mornings don't suit me anyway. Also I have "anxiety dreams" which can cause me to be start the day off in an anxious state.
Fortunately, the less anxious I'm becoming, the less anxious my dreams are. So I'm experiencing less morning anxiety. Now if I could just start to like mornings . . .

Yeah, whenever I'm going through a bout of anxiety, I wake up very nervous every single day. I hate it and since my anxiety rules my stomach, it makes it very difficult for me to want to eat and when I eventually do eat, it doesn't go down very well. Heck, even when I'm not going through a bout of anxiety I'll randomly wake up really nervous sometimes for no reason at all. There's a line about that in the movie "IQ."

Same here keeping the faith! I go to bed earlier and get up earlier. I have my quiet time just like at night, do what ever you wish, I have my devotions, do this program, relaxation, try a walk, meditate? Qiuet time seems to slow me down a bit and I like that.

I agree with David. My anxiety in the mornings has lessened greatly when i have my quiet time and then get right into my routine of exercise and the program, keep my mind distracted. Plus i stopped dreading it, i stopped anticipating it before i went to bed. I tell myself i am going to feel better in the morning and relax about it. Best ofluck to everyone, barb

Thank you, all!
I'm going to get myself a relaxation/imagery CD to do at night and I am trying to do my yoga in the morning. I try to get myself up instead of laying there "dreading". Once I get moving I usually can shake a lot of it off.

Me too! I feel great by evening!
I didn't realize others were the same way.
Take care,

Keeping The Faith:
I would like a CD of relaxation/imagery.
Where should I go to look for this.
About 20 years ago I had some of these.
But they were subliminal. And I don't want that kind.
Back then you could find those kinds of cassette tapes nearly anywhere.
I haven't had good luck finding what I am looking for now.
Do you know a good place to look?
Thanks.

Hi, Cornflower!
www.hypnosis-usa.com. or just plain old amazon.com...on my iPod I have stuff by Kate Harding, and Mary & Richard Maddux and they are pretty good. They are on iTunes and amazon.
At both places you can hear samples. I liked Christiane Kerr (at Fischee's recommendation)...she is British and does stuff for kids, but they are RELAXING and NO subliminal messages. I don't like that thought, either.
Good luck!

I've lost three jobs because mornings are the worst, I shake, my heart pounds, I feel breathless, I'm dizzy. It's a real pain in the patoot because like a bunch of you said, within a few hours I'm on an even keel again.
I'm trying to come up with a routine for the morning that could calm me down right away, like listening to the relaxation cd when I first get up, but I keep unplugging my cd player in the bedroom to plug the fan in, lol.
Sometimes I am my own worst enemy, hahaha.
