Hi,
Everyone I am really really axious today I did not get much sleep last night and the professionals that I have spoken to says just simple let the thoughts go. Do we know how hard that is. I have just got a whole bunch of wild thoughts running rapid in my mind. I was trying to control my breathing because I was afraid that in some way I was going to stop breathing that is what kept me up all night last night. I am at my wits end I feel like crying and I feel as though I am being pushed to the end of my rope again. I can't just let them go as much as I want to. I don't know what to do....

Two ideas.......first of all let them come, bring them on, all the thoughts, all the fears, tell them to come and get you.........go ahead try, bring it on...........as long as it takes, what you will find is that it is all a big BLUFF, it is your minds way of dealing with stress and anxiety, just let it come stop fighting it........take a nice deep slow breath, and release the FEAR, you are okay, YOU ARE OKAY
Secondly, when you get a chance go somewhere that is quiet, preferably outside, sit down, get comfortable and try to relax. Let your body be still, let your mind quiet down, listen to the wind, or other sounds of nature and just be still...........do this for fifteen minutes or so and you will feel a change, you should feel a little calmer and more secure in the knowing that you are okay.
I hope you feel better soon.
Let us know.
Try to get some rest, take your vitamins and eat really well

How far into the program are you? It really will help you with time and practice. You know with the breathing thing, the truth is that your breathing is automatic. If you held your breath and passed out, your body will keep breathing.
If you were going to stop breathing because of some illness or something beyond your control and you would know if you had something like that, there's nothing you could do to stop that from happening just by being aware of it and thinking you needed to stay awake to breathe.
I think I got that way with my heart one time when I was having a really horrible time with anxiety. I just constantly focused on my heart beat, and just thought that at any moment it would just stop. It didn't happen. Eventually I had my heart checked out by a cardiologist. I told him that I thought having a child with autism was going to kill me-that my heart couldn't handle it. He said, "No. The Good Lord made the heart strong." I just believed him. He was a cardiologist and something about the way he said it, just made me believe it.
I just hope you can believe me about your breathing. You can control your breathing to help you relax, but you don't need to be aware of breathing for you to breathe. It's just a survival mechanism. Your body naturally wants to survive and has all of these God given mechanisms to do so which includes automatic breathing.
This program will work, just keep working at it. Things will get better for you.
Take Care,

I know this sounds dumb because I have just started my first day today, but I have been fighting this for many years...

Thanks okay Candi, we all fight it, that is our natural instinct. According to all the "experts" the key is to float with the symptoms, accept them, don't fight them, know what they are..........anxiety, make friends with it
Easier said then done.
My biggest block is believing that what I am feeling is indeed anxiety!!

I've not mastered this yet myself. I just wanted to say that I know exactly how you feel.
