Hey all. I'm having a really bad day. I wasn't really anxious today until I starting having a stomach ache. Once that started, I went into panic mode and started dry heaving. Not only have I been dry heaving, but I have had frequent bathroom trips (you know what I mean). I hope this doesn't turn into a total relapse and I hope I can get on with my day. Please help!!!

bthnown,
You are have a rough start. If you have the relaxtion tape try that. The thing we do so well is have negative thinking and that programs our brain to search out those results. So tell yourself you are going to have a better 2nd half of the day even if your thoughts don't believe it. Our brains are like computers, what you feed in comes out. You are in my thoughts I know you can turn it around. Don't worry that this is a relapse, it is just a bump in the road. Ride with it.

Hi. I can sympathize with you on this. Look at your stomach ache this way, maybe a stomach ache is just a stomach ache and has nothing to do with anxiety. People get upset stomachs for a number of reasons, it'll be all better later in the day I'm sure. Don't let this turn into a relapse. Just tell yourself that it's just an upset stomach, that's all. Sometimes I have a tendency to blame my anxiety for everything...a headache, a cramp, a stomach ache...sometimes it is what it is. I hope this helps.

Well, you started out with little anxiety and you can finish up the day that way. The stomach ache will pass. Just remember that anxiety will pass too. Work your way through it with your skills and realize everybody gets aches and has those bathroom trips, but they don't last forever.
