I have a head cold and ever since I felt it coming on, I've been feeling anxious. I've only been using Afrin and sucking on Halls to alleviate my symptoms. I used to use Nyquil and Dayquil, but I can't anymore because they make me feel very agitated.
Anyone else feel this way? What do you do about it?

christian absolutely when we are sick we are more nervous. We are drained and even though we may not feel all that terrible our bodies are working so very hard to kill the germs that it is tired and we tend to keep going cuz we have to in many cases.
Lots of cold medicines as well as things like Advil have components in them that cause nervouseness such as caffine and such. Hence why we tend to feel better when we take them its kinda like a mini-lift.
The best advice is the old standbys....REST, Liquids and more rest. Seriously the more you rest your body works at killing the germs faster and you will get better quicker. So if you cant just stop and lay around everyday till it passes at the veryleast go to bed early and try to sit and relax during the day. Eat good and drink lots of water to flush all that out of your system and then dont worry so much when your feeling nervouse cuz its normal and it will pass as you get better.

Yes, it does. Also for me, weather changes affect my anxiety.
I have allergies and sinus problems and I feel worse when it rains. Sometimes the medication works great and other times it makes me more jittery. I live in NC and we desperately need the rain but it has been cloudy and rainy here for about 2 weeks. Only a couple days with the sun. I am at the point that I am sick of this weather. The longer it lasts the more anxious, tired, and the more my body hurts.
I know it will pass, so I keep telling myself its ok and it is just the weather and my allergies. Once I calm down I am fine.

Yep! It does for me! Especially if I'm sick enough to be bed or couch bound. Just keep telling yourself it will pass...because it will.
