Stress Center Peer Support

Has anyone suggested helping each other by suggesting good, positive, upbeat, clean favorite songs & shared their lists/added to the lists possible?
One that always gets me going is Nicole C. Mullins' "Talk About It".
I've been looking a long time for a good list of songs to listen to as I do housework. They could also be used for exercise purposes.

I like the funky 70's dance hits like "Brick House." When a song like that comes on I don't care what I'm doing, even if I'm laying in bed depressed, I have to get up and shake my booty! Makes housework a lot more fun!

Any one for Lionel Richie's "Dancing on the Ceiling"? It's really good also.

"Beautiful Day" by U2. There is also a remix by Paul Oakenfold that I like better, it's techie, but gets you up and moving.

"Love Movement" by Revtone (Ulrich Schnauss) always makes me relax and smile.

Good job. I'm thinking if we(everyone interested in getting a 'good, acceptable sort of natural high from listening to "get up & go" positive music) would feel & think a whole lot clearer--sort of what exercise does for you when you really get into it. I used to do aerobics & when younger, self-defense judo. Loved both.
See if you can encourage others to add their special songs. Then maybe we could get someone to put them on a couple of cds & we wouldn't have to purchase so many. Just a thought.

When I was at my very worst, I would listen to Gnarls Barkley's "Crazy" as loud as I possibly could on the way to work. Not only did it make me laugh hysterically, I also think many of the lyrics are true, "and when you're out there, out there without a care, yeah I was out of touch, but it wasn't because I didn't know enough- <span class="ev_code_RED">I just knew too much</span>..."

"...Who do you, who do you, who do you think you are? Ha, ha, ha- Bless your soul! You really think you're in control? I think YOU'RE crazy- just like me!"

The Stones' "19th Nervous Breakdown" makes me giggle, too.

I also ADORE "Diamonds on the Soles of Her Shoes" by Paul Simon.

Those wonderful old sounds from the late 60's and early 70's. Tina Turner, Van Morrison, Marvin Gaye, Sam Cook, Stevie Wonder. Songs like Keep the Ball Rolling, Apple Peaches Pumpkin Pie, Brown Eyed Girl, remember? You just must get moving when you hear those tunes.

Pecos--Yes I remember some of those, I' 52yrs old. They will make one get up & dance. Thanks for responding--not many have(actually 2 as far as I'm aware.) I guess most here don't like to listen to "get up & go" types of music. I also like some of the "newer" tunes like "Soda Pop". Also, I like Pokemon show & movie music,I have a 16 yr old son so six/eight yrs ago that is what we played(card game). I really like happy, bouncey music, not all simply contemporary. There's some really nice Christian songs.
