My Dr just prescribed me Zoloft and I was wondering if anybody takes it and does it help? I have a huge phobia to medicine and I am hoping to overcome that and get on the meds and hopefully get my life back!

Hey there! I have been on Zoloft since July. I started out on 25mg, and gradually moved up in dosages. I now take 150mg 1x a day. I know it has helped me, but I also take Trazadone at night, and Vistaril 2x a day. I am so much better than before, it is amazing. But, you can't just depend on the meds, you also need to see a therapist, and psychiatrst, and keep doing the program. I had and still have some side effects with Zoloft, including weight gain, being tired, and some suicidal thoughts. Any anti-depressant can do that, so just listen to your body and keep in constant contact with your doctor. Good luck, and hang in there, it does get better!
