I was just telling my wife that I made a personal decision to enjoy Christmas despite a financial strain. I want to, and am determined to enjoy Christmas Eve and Day. Then I thought how this can be applied to us folks with anxiety and depression.

This time of year can be a very sad time for many. I encourage you to make a decision to enjoy or at least attempt to enjoy the holiday season.

Last night I was watching on The History Channel The Christmas Truce. It was the story of how during WW I enemies paused the fighting and celebrated Christmas Eve and Day, 1914. The British, along many points of the battlefront, were surprised to hear the Germans caroling and walking toward them with a Christmas tree. Eventually many of the British soldiers and officers met their German counterparts. Unofficial truces sprung up along the battlefront! British and Germans talked and smoked together, "chilled out" as we would say now, and even played football (which was actually more like soccer.) December 26 fighting started up again.

A decision was made by some Germans to pause the war. Try and do the same thing with your anxiety, depression, finances, etc. Try and enjoy Christmas Eve and Day. Maybe you will be successful in pausing until New Year's. ;)

Oh! Thank you soooo much for this Charlie Brown! I love your posts!!

I'm gonna do just that. I've been having financial troubles. As a matter of fact, Im quite sure that's what triggers my anxiety. I notice that my anxiety is greatly reduced when I'm doing well financially.

This post is so helpful. This positive way of thinking will help us all if we choose to put it to use!
