Is it Adrenal fatigue you are intrested about? We were taught about that in one of my courses in collage. What is it you'd like to know?

I think there was a book mentioned. I was hoping to read it and learn more about adrenaline. I was not aware it could be depleted. I also was not aware that serotonin could become depleted. I'm still looking for dietary changes and supplements that will improve my health.
Thanks,
Don
P.S. How did you look up that post from October KarenLeigh?

I read the post also and I think it was just from a few days ago. The person posting left her private email to get in touch with her for more info on this but I have forgotten the topic of the post! It was pretty recent though as I recall. She mentioned certain foods that were related to the adrenal fatigue.

I didn't see that thread but there are a few great books.
Adrenal Fatigue
The 21st Centry Stress Syndrome
That's a pretty good book. You could also check out Hans Selye's books on stress.
Adrenal burnout/depletion/fatigue aren't so much about the depletion of adrenaline but more about the depletion of cortisol. See what happens is the stress response happens and the Hypothalamus sends a response to the Pituitary which releases numerous hormones one of which activates the Adrenal's to release their hormones (Norepinephrine, Epinephrine and Cortisol). Norepinephrine and Epinephrine together are Adrenaline and they are what makes the heart beat faster and the blood go to the muscles and give you the fight or flight symptoms while the cortisol goes up to the hypothalamus and turns off the stress response. If you are consistently under tons of stress and thus you need mroe and more cortisol. Another thing about cortisol is it is like heroine in the context that the more you use it, the more of it you need in order to have the same effect. Your body tries to adapt but eventually it gives up and then the person's body struggles to deal with even the littlest stressors and they stay in the fight or flight response longer and longer. When this happens the only thing that you can do to overcome this is manually calm myself down and do things that are enjoyable.
Hope that helps

Here are two podcasts on Adrenal Fatigue. It has answered many questions to why I feel the way I do and may be helpful for you. I felt it has helped speed up my recovery in anxiety and depression.
I hope this info is helpful

Hey Don,
I remembered posting a few weeks back on something similar. So I scrolled down to the bottom of this page(forum). the farther you go down the older the topics like what people posted on the 15th,14th etc.... When you get to the bottem of the page you can click on numbers 1 2 3 4...250. It has it at the top of the page as well. I clicked on like #3 and it pulled up alot of October post. I scrolled till I found the one I remembered.
Hope that helps

"Greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world".
I've read the book Adrenal Fatigue 21st Century Syndrome and found it to be very helpful! I went then to a doctor that also works with alternative medicine and among other helpful things she has tested and confirmed my adrenal fatigue..there is both a saliva test and blood test that can confirm it. My blood pressure gets very low when my cortisol is low as well as my blood sugar and it causes weak spells and fatigue and extreme anxiety. I work to keep all caffeine and very little sugar in my diet. Lots of water helps. My doctor recommends drinking a quart of pure water for every 50 pounds of weight. Exercise even though you feel fatigued is also helpful.
I also take Vitamin D which my blood test said was very low and a supplement my doctor recommended that has lots of vitamins and minerals in a drink. I am feeling much better than I was 6 months ago! My anxiety levels have dropped tremendously and my energy levels are way up. At first lots of rest was also very important, however I no longer need as much as I did. I hope this is helpful for you!

First of all, thank you for making this thread. I had forgotten about the adrenal fatigue stuff and I needed to be reminded. Especially about the sleeping part. I skimmed through the book i mentioned and it says it is very important to get to sleep before 11pm and from my experience when you go to sleep is much more important than how many hours of sleep you get.

That is awesome that you were able to get the adrenal fatigue worked on directly by a health practitioner. It is very inspiring and I'm wondering more about your sleep schedual. How long did you have to focus on sleeping and resting for?
