I have a couple things going on and any input would be appreciated. For the past year I have had a rapid heart rate. I never think much of it because i have anxiety. But I do constantly worry about my health so I check my pulse all the time. It usually about 110-115 even when I'm calm. Anyways I had a check up at my drs and my pulse was 124. I said to them right away that I knew it would be fast because i was anxious. But she didn't like the fact that my heart is always fast so she wanted to do an EKG. Did the EKG and it didn't come back right. She said that she wanted me to see a cardiologist right away and get a stress test done. Well the test is in two days and i can't stop worrying about it. I'm overweight and worried about going on the treadmill and a bunch of other things. I know its all anticipatory anxiety but anyone have any advice on how to just calm down about it. When i get to that Dr's office Im going to be a MESS!!!

Also, I'm on Lexapro and Yaz and Ellivile for migraines. My dr wants me to try prozac, my other dr wants me to get off ellivile, and my other dr wants me to try a new birth control instead of yaz. I want to do one thing at a time so if there are any problems i can pin point why. But i dont know what to do first and I'm really nervous to do anything at all. Any advice?

And sorry for writing a book!!! :)

Dont worry. You'll be fine. The same thing happened to me only it was my blood pressure. They had me doing EKGs, stress tests, and everything else they could think of. Everything was fine. They also noticed that the more I relaxed, the more my blood pressure normalized.

The treadmill isn't that hard. It's not as bad as you think, and there's people all around to make sure you're okay. Don't worry you'll be fine.

Just to hang in there.

Homeopathy has helped me with a number of health issues (of course I would continue with your regular doctors as well). Take care.

CMEB, you answered your own question, anticipatory anxiety. Another thing is the adrenaline that has been released in your body because of anxiety and even more anxious moments, it has built up in your muscles etc and the keeps the heart rate up. You must exercise. You said you are overweight ( I am getting a gut) and you and I are the ONLY ones who can do something about that huh? So I plan starting back at the gym, and/or walking. My EKG came back abnormal and all it was is a mitral valve prolapse, that is something people are born with and it is NOT harmful in the least manner!! They found that back in early 1980's and I am still here!!

Hope that helps,

Rod
