Hey guys.

Has anyone ever felt like they had something stuck way in back of their throat but there's nothing there to be seen?

The past 5 days I have felt under the weather and my throat isn't sore but has a lot of drainage. I have noticed this feeling like there's a tiny piece of food stuck in the back of my throat but I don't see anything.

I am wondering if it's due to me not feeling well and the drainage?

I am a non smoker but unfortunately grew up around a lot of second hand smoke so I'm always worried that I'm going to develop serious health problems because of that exposure.

Any input would be helpful for me to put my mind at ease. Thank you

Blake, I have had that same feeling off ond on for many years. Mine is probably due to getting so tense that I clentch teeth and/or suck my gums. Yours is probably due to the drainage and some glands swelling under your throat> That swwelling is normal when we get a flu or cold because it is part of the immune system doing as it should do.
Dont worry, all is ok.

Hi John! I would recomend you to got to a quick center and have it check out so you can decide if is the anxety or is real. And after that if is the anxiety start breathing 2 in, 4 out........Eventually your mind will tell the chemical part of your brain that everything is ok, is just anxiety! I had the same feeling but with the breathing, I had this thought that I wasn't breathing right, it was like an OCD, after all the breathing technique and talking to myself for like a week and a half the thought start fading away!! Good Luck!! Most of us goes through that part of the anxiety but I overcome that part already and I you will too... Keep going...
