Amy, please don't consider it a failure. You are working on something that is a process. You just might not be there in that process yet, but you will be.

Aww honey you aren't a failure! I wouldn't want to get that done either! Just a minor speed bump, you'll make that appt and go in. Maybe it would help to have someone go with you?

Hi Amy,

You can;t even imagine how many times it took me to go to the eye doctor, knowing i needed glasses. To many to count, I'd call on a good day to make an appt. Anticipatate the appt until the day it came and make an excuse to cancel. Finally the first week of my program, I got there, No i wasn't going blind, I didn't have glocoma or some dreaded disease just Astigmatisum, and needed glasses. Dont beat yourself up, your doing great. Just make another appt and try to make it. It's great that you reconize it, that's usually the hardest step.

Take care Amy

Amy, you DID NOT fail. Failure in our case of anxiety type people would be to never admit that we can change and also never seeking help for it in the first place!
Repeat,,,,you did NOT fail, you had a little set back.
You will do it soon.
OH, by the way,,,,I have had all 4 wisdom teeth pulled and it isn't a big deal.

Amy,

Who knows maybe you really had a touch of the flu? I know I make myself sick worrying sometimes. I can't tell you how many times I've either called out sick from work or re-arranged my yearly exam due to anxiety! It truly is not important in the grand scheme of things. Don't beat up on yourself. Just re-schedule whenever you feel up to it. The sooner the better I'm guessing so you won't anticipate it for weeks in advance. I put off having my wisdom teeth pulled until I was 28. I finally did and you know what? It wasn't really bad at all. In fact I can honestly say that once they knocked me out it was done before I even knew what had happened. I couldn't believe how LONG I had anticipated that "dreaded" appointment. Good luck and remember you are not a failure!!!!! I remember chatting you a few years back when I chatted online and you are so sweet. Focus on what a strong person you are. :D Take care and God Bless! Carrie
