I may have spelled it wrong. The doctor prescribed Buspar for my anxiety. I know nothing about this medication as I have never been on it before. Does anyone take it or know of it?

Do you mean buspirone (BuSpar)?
Go to this website and you'll find good information:

I have taken it in the past and at first it was very effective. After awhile it lost its effectiveness for me though. I had no side effects from it.

I was worried about side effects. I have read that some of the side effects sound as bad as the anxiety itself. I just wanted to know how others have reacted on it.

About two months ago, I started back on Zoloft. Buspar was prescribed to help initially counter the possible early side effects of the Zoloft. I honestly did not notice any side effects from taking the Buspar. However, everybody can react differently. I was afraid of the side effects also but realized that the side effects of not getting my anxiety in check could also hurt me worse.

I am on Buspar. I have no side effects. The only side effect I had and still have is that I am able to deal with my anxiety. It has been a great tool in this process. Don't be afraid of it. If you have any questions, let me know.
