Don't know how this happened, I gave up smoking on Saturday, all was fine, didn't even have any cravings as such, just the usual triggers at meal times etc, I was well pleased with myself, today woke up and cried, for no reason at all, I just felt so sad and tried, I have never got so depressed that I cried before, But I went to work and felt like crying all day, I gave in and had a smoke about 2 hours ago and I do feel better already, can giving up smoking make you depressed? Well at least when I'm depressed I'm not anxious, its either one or the other with me.

Yes, for awhile it can. I quit over 10 years ago. In some cases it is like grief.
You have to want to not smoke.
It causes all kinds of feelings to start up.
I remember that it does.
Wishing you luck with it if you try again.
