Recently I have been feeling lightheaded. Even when i am just sitting down I get this rush in my head and get real lightheaded and my eyes get a little out of focus and feel faint. it comes and goes. It is very annoying and wondered if there is anything I can do to help alleviate this? It is worrying me a little. Why does anxiety cause this? I also think that the heat is making this worse. When i was hiking too I as feeling off balance. I hate this feeling!! I am waiting for my blood test results and that is making me pretty nervous. I have also been getting really tired. As if i was drugged tired. It may be hormonal (which is what the blood test was for) . . Anyway, any replies would be appreciated. Thank You!

Hi, Holly!

I am feeling the exact same way! Yes, I do know that it's a typical symptom of anxiety and you really have to concentrate on your breathing (diaphramatically so your tummy goes up and down, not breathing from throat or chest), and relaxing your neck and shoulders.

It's a good thing, though, to rule out everything else as you are doing, but I am sure it will pass and you'll be fine!

Coould also be an inner ear disturbance especially if you have been sick or been swimming lately. I just went to the doc for this and I owund up having water in my inner ear causing vertigo. They have anitvertigo meds and decongestants than can help if it is this. I would have your ears checked.

Hi Holly,
I have had these feelings. When i am wound up, or getting into an anxious wave, i get this. have you tried immediately doing the relaxation tape and seeing if it helps? Then you would know.
NOLE, i have also thought, as i still kind of do, thath i have an inner ear thing, but my ear doctor looks in there and did some tests in his office, and said it wasn't my ear. What type of test was your doctor able to do to confirm water behind the ear?

Hi Holly, are your blood chemistry work ups looking for general things, like anemia? Your doctor will know when the work ups come back. Keep us posted. :) Pecos.

I dont think i am anemic because it would have showed up in the first blood test i did 2 months ago. It was a general blood test i guess. . checking all the organs and thyroid and i think it checks to see if youre anemic too. . these other blood tests he is checking for hormonal stuff. . including prolactin. . . But when i go back i will ask him to check my ears. I do feel like i may have allergies too. . Thank you for the replies everyone :)
