Well, I don't know if my opinion on this subject matters much since I am neither christian nor gay. However, I was raised christian and I have a gay sibling so it might count for a little. All that you are going through sounds very much like what my brother went through - one of the main reasons he is no longer christian himself. It didn't have to be that way. He didn't have to totally leave the church, he just needed to find a more accepting one. And believe me, they exist. You CAN be christian and gay at the same time, if that's what you really want - and it seems like you do. If you talk with a minister of one of these churches they can ease your mind and give you the truth... and without judgment.

I feel as if I need to apologize for some of the responses you've gotten here. They are less than the loving, understanding, and accepting responses I would have hoped to see. I know with all my heart that you are not a sinner or condemned or anything but that's easier for me to say than for you to believe, especially when you are told otherwise. Since God made you gay and God doesn't make mistakes, there is nothing "wrong" or "bad" here. You say the same thing my brother says when people call it a lifestyle choice: he says it's not a choice, he was born that way. He would know better than any clueless heterosexual (myself included) so I tend to believe him. He came to his conclusion after many years of denial, therapy, and tears, another thing us heterosexuals will never understand. I wish you luck on your path to God and even though I don't think you're seeing a whole lot of Jesus' love in this thread, it's out there, somewhere, and I know you'll find it.

P.S. No, you're not evil! Now stop that! :)
Too often we enjoy the comfort of opinion without the discomfort of thought.

This is why I quoted the scripture about judgement. I foresaw this happening.

I don't know searunner personally, but I'm guessing he posted for help because he knows homosexuality is a sin in God's eyes and he's struggling with it as he really does love God. So why rant all over him with scripture about it?

If an alcholic came to you and asked for your help, would you go over scripture about drunkeness? If a woman living with a man who isn't her husband was looking for help and advice, would you tell her she was commiting adultery or fornication according to the Bible? They already are AWARE of this!

Also the talking down to him, and telling him how to approach God, and counselling him on becoming a better Christian? Did he ask for that? What makes YOU a better Christian?

Please - I am not talking to everyone here, and if you think I might be referring to you, than re-read your post and ask yourself, are you talking to Searunner like a child or a friend? This is a place where people want peer counsel, not a parent, clergyman or judge.

Searunner - You did ask about all sins being the same in God's eyes. Here are the 7 abominations:

Proverbs 6:16-19 (King James Version)

These six things doth the LORD hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him:

A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood,

An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief,

A false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren.

Here is the unforgivable sin:

Matthew 12:31-32 (New International Version)

And so I tell you, every sin and blasphemy will be forgiven men, but the blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven. Anyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man will be forgiven, but anyone who speaks against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven, either in this age or in the age to come.
Shif.

If you don't like something change it; if you can't change it, change the way you think about it.

SeaRunner

Wow, first of all I want to say that is AMAZING that you came out and said that you are gay to a set of forums that has the potential to say mean things about it. I don't know if you knew this but I'm also gay.

One thing i cannot relate to you is the religeon part, mostly because many believers think that being gay is wrong (that is not the only reason but I'm not going to get into that). All i'm going to say is that when you were hiding it, I bet it hurt so badly. Do you think the higher power that wishes good for everybody would want someone to hurt that bad? That's what I'd consider evil, not being allowed to be yourself. You aren't the only gay person in the world and you are human just like us so if you are evil then I would have to be evil as well as thousands of other people.

The best way to figure out if you are evil is to define what evil is. Is it possible that you question yourself as being evil based on how you're feeling?
The only person who has control over what you feel is yourself and you do that through your thoughts.

I don't think i can avoid talking in a way that would question your faith and I appologize if I cross the line but there are many gay men who pray and accept Jesus as their savior, there are even diffrent sects of christianity that accept homosexuality. I never did much research on it but I have heard from a few diffrent sources about these things and the person I'm living with right now is a homosexual catholic.

I hope this helps,

Mike

Hi Everyone,
I am clueless on where some of you are receiving your information, since, the Bible is true and it is impossible for Jesus to lie!!!

If you want to truly help someone in this life, then, you can only accomplish that by telling someone the truth!!!

You can sugar coat the truth all you want, but, the truth is still the truth!!!

The Bible which is the Word of God teaches against homosexuality, which I gave Scriptures for in an earlier posting!!! This is a sin and no minister in this world can dispute this one, without telling you a flat lie!!!

When I ask someone a question, then, I expect to hear the truth come from their mouth!!! I am not out to have my ears tickled!!!

So, if one is searching for the truth, then, they must begin by prayer and reading what the HOLY BIBLE has to say about these things!!!

No minister in this entire world will ever convince me that a sin is not a sin!!! That is utter nonsense and is false teaching!!!

I wander how many of you have been on your knees in prayer for Sea Runner today????

Well, I did get on my knees and cried out for Sea Runner because I do realize that he is searching for the truth, not fairy tales!!!

You can not take portions of the Word of God and twist them around to condone sin!!!! Sin is sin and that is all there is to it!!!

Paul tells us that just because we are under the grace covenant that it does NOT give us (as God's children) a license to sin!!!

We must take the entire word of God and link up the Scriptures, in order to find out what God is really trying to convey to us in HIS WORD!!!

There is a sin which is done under the sun which is done against the temple of the Holy Spirit and that is fornication!!!

Here is the Scripture concerning these things...

1 Corinthians

15 Know ye not that your bodies are the members of Christ? shall I then take the members of Christ, and make them the members of an harlot? God forbid.

16 What? know ye not that he which is joined to an harlot is one body? for two, saith he, shall be one flesh.

17 But he that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit.

18 Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body.

19 What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?

20 For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.

Sea Runner, I pray that you study these scriptures for yourself and that you do not take my word or any one ele's words on these things!!!

Sea Runner, All the answers to your questions are contained in the Living Word of God the (HOLY BIBLE)...

I pray that God enlightens you on these things!!! Have a wonderful night's rest sheltered beneath the wings of OUR ALMIGHTY GOD!!!

Louie, I do feel sorry for you since, you will have to stand before the Judgment seat of Christ someday!!! No one lives forever!!! I pray that you keep this in mind!!!! I will pray for your soul, since, you do need to have Christ in your life!!!

I do not understand why you and some of the others are trying your best to discourage SeaRunner who is asking for help in this area of his life!!!

If he did not believe in God, then, he would not have felt the need to ask this question today!!!

Louie, I will not waste my breath on you, since, you don't even know one thing about me!!! My guess would be that you have never opened up the Bible in your entire lifetime!!!

I do not claim to know it all, but, I do know Jesus and HE lives inside of my soul!!! I do know where that I am going when I leave this world!!!
And that is all that matters to me!!!

I pray you get some rest tonight!!! God Bless!!!

quote:
In Proverbs 3:5 (NAS) it reads:
Trust in the LORD with all your heart; And do not lean on your own understanding.
Hi Searunner,

It's your choice. You can have your ears trickled with half truths, false teachings, and well meaning folks taking the broader road, and path to destruction. Or you can pick up your own bible and learn to go through the narrow gate for the way to the truth the way and the life to salvation and eternal life.

BTW, there is much written in the Bible about what is and was isn't an abomination, you might want to make use of a Bible search engine such as this one:

http://bible.oneplace.com/sear...ible&translation=nas

Leviticus 18:22 in the Complete Jewish Bible reads as follows:

Leviticus 18:22 CJB
"'You are not to go to bed with a man as with a woman; it is an abomination."

The books of Proverbs are a really good place to start acquiring wisdom since it was mostly composed by the world's wisest man; Solomon, and this is what he says, through divine inspiration, about wisdom and reproof:

Proverbs 1:7 CJB
The fear of ADONAI is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and discipline.

Proverbs 4:7 CJB
The beginning of wisdom is: get wisdom! And along with all your getting, get insight!

Proverbs 9:10 CJB
The fear of ADONAI is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of holy ones is understanding.

Proverbs 13:18 CJB
Poverty and shame are for him who won't be taught, but he who heeds reproof will be honored.

Proverbs 12:1 NAS
[Contrast the Upright and the Wicked] Whoever loves discipline loves knowledge, But he who hates reproof is stupid.

Proverbs 15:10 NAS
Grievous punishment is for him who forsakes the way ; He who hates reproof will die.

The Bible is the source of truth, and full and truthful search on all matters pertaining to any of life's questions can be found there. Don't stop to find a scripture that suits your need, you must accurately divide the word of God, and for that you need the guidance of the Holy Spirit. Anybody and including the devil can use scripture inaccurately. If you wish to step into the role of a teacher, you need to do so with fear and trembling. Please read Mathew 4:1-11 to see that Satan can quote scripture improperly:

http://www.biblegateway.com/pa...04:1-11&version=NASB

Matthew 18:6 CJB
and whoever ensnares one of these little ones who trust me, it would be better for him to have a millstone hung around his neck and be drowned in the open sea!

Mark 9:42 CJB
"Whoever ensnares one of these little ones who trust me -- it would be better for him to have a millstone hung around his neck and be thrown in the sea.

Luke 17:2 CJB
It would be to his advantage that he have a millstone hung around his neck and he be thrown into the sea, rather than that he ensnare one of these little ones.

If you lead someone or anyone, wrongly giving the superficial appearance of truth, you are teaching falsely. Those seeking to lead any little one improperly or falsely, or with your own understanding, or with partial truths; need to ponder just what it is you are doing.

I pray you lean not on your own understanding and continue your search for truth, found in the Bible for the answers that you are earnestly searching for, and not what others believe to be the truth for: broad is the way to destruction, but narrow is the gate to the truth, the way, and salvation that leads to eternal life.

Good night.
All for His praise, glory and the joy it gives Him.

Hugs, In His Love >:D<
