I once had a friend
Always so close, we would blend.
She never let me down, always cheered me up.
Made sure I was never alone, my honor she would
defend.

She encouraged me, made me laugh, fixed me pink Jello and called it, a giraffe.

Then One she was gone:( Just suddenly disappeared!
And She seemed so far away, and in darkness and I feared.

Why she left, and where she went, I searched and could not find.
She had meant so much to me, now I was in a Bind!

No one to pat me on the back for good things, Id done, no smiles, no loving care.
What was I to do, but live in total dispair.

I was scared and anxious and very depressed, it seemed for years alone. How can you replace someone, whom you'd always known.

But, Now because of help recieved from others, I had met. And a program just for me, It helped my eyes to see.

I hadn't lost my friend at all, cause MY best Friend is ME!!!

I hope you each will realize, this may sound silly but true. Look in the mirror very hard, and your best friend is looking back at you:)

Hey Mello Nello...I liked that. Is that something you wrote? You know the last part you said about looking in the mirror. I thought about something someone wrote on here one time about looking in the mirror. I wish I could find that post...anyway. The person was saying how she looked at her self in the mirror and how it changed her. I remember her saying try for just a few minutes(looking in the mirror) at yourself. I think.. that is probably.. one of the first steps in learning how to love yourself and be your on best friend.
