i have worked like a field hand all day and am beat like a small dog. my back is beyond sore. i scrubbed my front porch top to bottom - and it's a big porch! it looks brand new - so pretty and clean!!!! the article i read on how to scrub vinyl siding said to put any furniture in the yard. i recommend - if you don't want it to get wet - taking it to the next county LOLOL
pool guy and his gang were here this afternoon. he's almost finished. today i could actually turn on the pool - way cool.
me and mama went to home depot a while ago then walked a one and a half times around the lake. i could feel my back tightening up so much!
since my front door has been painted over 105 times - remember i live in an old house - i bought some kind of scrapper - a 5 in 1? - so scraping is next. i brought home color chips/things/whatever they're called so i can pick out the color red i want for the door and shutters - a cranberry red is what i'm shooting for. my house is light gray with white trim. regarding the scraping, i'm thinking i'm going to have to enlist my nephews for some help there. as sharp as that thing is, it's still hard!!!! i'm going to grab my brother too! hmmmmmm i need to start making calls LOL
it was absolutely gorgeous here today - and in the low 90s!!!! my green car is yellow and that's after i rinsed it off early this afternoon. you can't imagine the pollen.
i've got to do some stretching or i won't be able to get out of bed in the morning. just that i already know is not a good sign LOL
i LOVE being off work this week!!!

Good to know about the movies. I want to rent The Blind Side.
I didn't even notice the "scrapper" LOL
Funny you should mention about doors. I want to take the 50 coats of paint off mine too. The door is a 1927 model. I'm guessing at the 50 coats. It's probably more. LOL I want to use a "scrapper" too LOL and sand it down and refinish it with a stain and varnish. I need help taking the thing down because it weighs about 100 lbs (I don't think I'm exaggerating either). I need to clean my porch off too. I'll send the chairs to the country first ! LOL
Have a great day tomorrow and catch some sun rays for me too !

Hey Man and Karma don't be paint stripping
martyrs buy the Eco friendly paint stripping gels. It will go thru tons of paint and cut your job in more than half!!
Karma thanks for the Heads up on Sherlock Holmes I have that one on my Netflix list..hmmm maybe I will take it off? There's not too many that I want to see right now.
Glad you are both are having a good week. It's been nice here too. High 60's hope to get out for maybe a small picnic

i am having more fun than anyone on my spring break! a "staycation" is just what i wanted and needed!!!!
the weather is beyond beautiful - hot, sunny, no humidity. the neighborhood is so quiet. the boys roam in and out of the house just happy i'm home.
yesterday when i was scraping and glazing the front windows, i wore a tank top and my hair in a top knot. end result - sunburn on my neck, back and shoulders.
monday after i spent the day scraping the windows, my hands were so tired i couldn't hold a cigarette LOL
it's a given i've pulled every muscle in my shoulders and back - and my wrists are sore x 2!
my second home is now home depot. i'm in every late afternoon for something. everything is so expensive! maintained a home - something i've not been very on top of - is expensive! i will do better!!!!!
so yes i'm beat to death - but having such a good time! if you guys were here i'd give you a paint brush and we'd party like rock stars!!!

Jill - For you, I will try the paint stripping gels (Eco friendly). Maybe if I use that, I'll be able to keep the door on it's hinges while I work on it. It is one heavy door
Karma - Glad to hear that you and your dogs are having an awesome time on vacation ! Hope you got a TON of sunny days to relax. I know, it's tough sometimes to sit still when house stuff needs to be done. I'm exactly the same way. I plugged in the pump to the bubbler rock, but it didn't shoot the water up very high out of the rock so I unattached the pump from the pipe going into the bubbler rock. The pump somehow managed to turn itself around and I got soaked from head to toe with water. At least I know the pump works fine ! That means there's a clog at the bend in the pipe so I need to drain the reservoir under the rock and shoot water into the rock to unclog the pipe. It's either that or the elbow came partly unattached from the pipe going into the rock and it just needs to be pushed back in which is much easier. Either way I need to drain the reservoir.
It got cold here again. It went to almost freezing last night. It's 46 degrees right now. The good news is that we're getting sun from tomorrow until Wednesday. That'll warm things up again. I can't wait !
Hope all went well today for you !

i am having MORE fun than anyone!!!!! i am doing things i never dreamed i'd have the energy or wherewithal to even attempt!!!! is my glazing windows and painting perfect? nope. but i love it!!!!!! LOL
i started sanding and painting the front door this afternoon. the first coat took horribly LOL x forever mama was watching me paint and didn't know what to say. the only thing i could say was "it's beyond terrible" and "if anyone new comes to visit i'll just tell them it's the house with the door" LOL i gave a couple of panels a second coat then we went to walk. when we got back it was beautiful. mama went home and i just finished a 2nd and 3rd coat. if it takes another 2 coats tomorrow - so be it.
i love the color. it's some kind of cranberry. mama kept saying when we were walking "red door" over and over. i finally said something like "you know mama, a red door is something hookers have too." she started laughing and said she knew and was wondering if i was starting a side job LOL x forever
tomorrow i'll finish painting the 2 front windows. one is finished but it rained and rained yesterday. that was fine with me because my body was tired and then some! hopefully i'll be able to get the big front window and the side-lights done too! it's supposed to be sunny and cool.
hope your weekend is great!!!!!!!

Moonlighting are you ?!?!?!?! Good for you ! LOL
Better your mom say "red door" over and over again then "redrum" over and over !
You are a motivation. Tomorrow I will go to Home Depot and get the Eco friendly gel. I hope it works.
If not, then the poisonous stuff works LOL
I really should go for the river walk first though.
(After work of course)
