My wife (69) has been diagnosed with dementia and possibly alzheimers' disease. She takes aricept and memantine for dementia and effexor for anxiety and depression. There have been various cross side-effects from such prescription medicines when taken together. Is there anyone with similar ailments who has benefitted from the Lacinda Bassett course? I just saw the TV infomercial and thought I would ask before getting the course material for my wife. Thanks for your reply, Herb

Alzheimer's disease is usually diagnosed clinically from the patient history, collateral history from relatives, and clinical observations, based on the presence of characteristic neurological and neuropsychological features and the absence of alternative conditions. Advanced medical imaging with CT or MRI are generally used to help to diagnose the subtype of dementia and exclude other cerebral pathology. Neuropsychological evaluation including memory testing and assessment of intellectual functioning can further characterize the dementia.

Herb, My mother-in-law has a faster progressing type dementia which is called Lewey Body Disease. I couldn't possibly see her getting help from this program but of course she's 83.Is she still at home and if so, do the Drs. say how long they think you can keep her home? If she's still home and able to function maybe it could be a good thing for her. You really need to be there to support her and encourage her. Come here for advice. Would she be able to come on here or go on chat? Or maybe you could. There is a prayer conf. call for you to come on Wed. (tomorrow) l0pm eastern and 9pm central.Call 2-866-633-6958 passcode 5808848. Would love to meet you and so would others. We welcome everyone especially newbies! I will be watching this thread to hear more from you.

My physician has prescribed Aricept for Alzheimer's disease. I found a site which gave info about Generic for Aricept (Donepezil) is used to treat mild to moderate dementia caused by Alzheimer's disease. I have bought Generic For Aricept 5MG for which price has been reduced and helping the customers to have low cost medical bills.
