Hello, I really thought I was ready for Thanksgiving this year. I was doing so much better than last year, the first years with both parents gone. Both my sisters were out of town this year. Anyway, invited five friends, cooked and prepared food for two days. Got three last minute cancellations 20 minutes before dinner was to begin. Talk about sudden panic, depression and yes, with the last call, a few tears. Well, I managed to talk my new friend from choir into comeing anyway and paid for her gas, and the guy that was coming with his wife but cancelled because his wife was having problems with her depression came anyway too. Talk about an extreme holiday test! I didn't freak, I actually managed to be a great hostess and laugh about the way mom used to ruin all our holidays. You should have seen the 16 pound bird.
