A "smile" image

Somtimes it helps just to laugh.

Hi All-

I was just going through session 2 yesterday for the first time and was looking at the assignments. I noticed we have to come up with a peaceful image when we do our morning meditation. I have plenty of those (usually the beach in Santa Barbara).

My question to you is, what is your favorite "smile" image? What is something you can picture or see and immediately smile?

I have 2. A sweet, smiling and babbling baby (around 4 months or so when they are aware of you too) is one of my favorites. The other is a dog sticking his head out a car window with his tongue flapping and his ears flying. That just cracks me up (and I'm a cat person - LOL).

What do you think of to make you smile? :D -J
PS- I think this image is a combo of both of my favorites (LOL).

:)Well I have a new one now...the picture you posted is just the sweetest and funniest I have seen in a while..THANKS!!

So many things now can make me smile that it's harder to think of them all. Always my children and grandaughters make me smile. A beautifull cloud, sunsets, birds, my dogs twitching, running and making noises as they sleep, how happy my dogs are to see me or someone else coming to visit, A baby, someone else smiling and looking so happy, a happy post on the site, trees that surround me and even myself after I have accomplished something I'm proud of...which is almost anything I have done now. I could write a novel but will stop now.

Great post...Thanks
Have a wonderfull day and enjoy that baby. They grow up so fast.

:D

Thank you so much for the much needed smile. The little dog is so cute. I have a peaceful image that seems to help me. I am sitting in a boat on real calm water. I can see a beautiful lighthouse in the distance helping to guide me to shore. I have a neat story that a friend gave me a copy of once. I don't know if you could type in the title and be able to find it on the internet. It is called "The Struggle." It is about a butterfly struggling to get out of a cacoon. A man thinks he can help the process so he pulls open the cacoon. The poor butterfly spends the rest of its life not being able to fly because he has a fat body and shriveled up wings. It's sad but the moral is sometimes we have to endure a long struggle to finaly develope into something beautiful. I think in this day and age we want results now and don't understand that we have to go through a long process sometimes to get where we want to be. I look at the program kind of like the cacoon stage. I hope to be a beautiful butterfly some day. I am actually going through the program a second time so I think of the first time as the caterpillar stage and now I am in the caccoon. So as you can see it can sometimes be a very long process. I know in the end it will be worth it. A very smart woman once told me something while I was going through a very rough time in life. She said I believe the saying "live and learn" is backwards. I believe we Learn about ourselves and then hope we are smart enough to figure out how to Live with what we know. She would always say"Learn and Live." I hope that made sense. It did to me at the time. She basicaly summed up we all go through bad stuff at sometime in life but if you learn something from it usually in the end you come out of it a better person or atleast have the knowledge of what NOT to do the next time. Well I have rattled on too long but I hope someone finds this helpful. This website has given me some of the best therapy. I was really down when I sat down to the computer but just in typing away feel much better. I hope all are in a good place and here's to learning and earning our wings.

Faith ;)
