I was researching online about a week ago on people who see things and people. Now I have scary thoughts during the day of me seeing people more like images in my head although I dont actually see anything. But the thought just scares me I can be sitting at the table and have a thought of others sitting there with me am I losing my grip or my mind. Or is this just anxiety onece again playing tricks on me. I am all so on Citolopram and I have been on it for a week and I am having some weird side effects. Now im paranoid always double checking to make sure I'm not seeing things. Someone please give me some help or some insight thanks

Hey littlemiss,

Seeing visual images is very common. Us OCD-ers tend to have alot of action in the left side of our brain. That is the part of the brain that holds fear, sex, creativity, etc. This same side scares the crap out of us with our scary thoughts, yet this same side also fuels our imaginations. This is what my OCD specialist psychologist told me. She says this is why they prescribe art work or creative activities as a great form of therapy.

But I have always had a vivid imagination so I can picture scary things just like I an picture happy things and creative things.

The medication you are on might have side effects. I know that I am on my second different kind of medication for my ocd. the first one did not work well with my body.

However if you are visualizing things it must be you are the very creative type. But if you think it could be the meds or it concerns you make sure to communicate with your doctor.

But my advice is , we all are very imaginative creative individuals. Unfortunately we imagine worst case scenarios haha. Let's imagine rational truthful things instead right :)?

Take it easy
