Stress Center Peer Support

Do any of you have a spouse that is just not on the same page as you...so to speak?? I try to get motivated to do things and he just sits there. I don't push him to do much because he works all week. I feel guilty if I do.
Sometimes I feel like the only one who's working on are relationship. We will talk about doing things but never get them done. It's hard enough to get motivated as it is. Then to have a partner who rarley encourages you is hard! I'm not trying to blame him for my unhappiness. I just know I took my vows for life! I want so much more out of life for the both of us and our girls. He just seems to settle with what is. I know Lucinda talks about misery loves company and I don't want that company anymore!
Can anyone relate or maybe have some advice. I would really appreciate it

Yup I have a husband who sounds a lot like that. It is hard for anyone who has never experienced anxiety to understand it. I cant expect him to understand. I told my counsler one day how I need him to do this and I need him to do that ect... She pretty much told me that I cant expect someone to be all those things to me. I need to be them for myself. It was a little hard to hear but I think I needed it. I cant expect him to be something that he is not. It gets hard sometimes. So I can totally relate to you.
Also remember he is a MAN! LOL

I too have a husband who is satisfied to be miserable. I've tried to get him to participate in the program but after 2 weeks, he's still resisting so I continue on my own. He's in therapy, taking the Paxil (5th drug he's tried)and he is disappointed in results. but he's got to come to the realization that he should seek other help and he has to want to get better and try something new. it's just really frustrating.

My husband is alot like yours. Mine makes fun when I have an attack or gets mad if I need to sit and relax instead of work.

Sometimes his negative talk really gets to me. But then again I noticed I also had alot of negative self talk to go with his. That made me even worse.
