Guilt can be created by negative thoughts too. I just thought of this, so you can write through them on paper and these negative thoughts can become obsessive as well.
In november I went to the states and i was made a fool of at customs and i felt so guilty and ashamed for myself...it took hours for me to overcome the thoughts and you know, it just dawned on me now, that was an obsessive thought going on in my head.
So really you could use the same skills for obsessive thinking (changing the negative thought into a humorus one and reading it everyday for a few weeks), as you could with guilt/shame.
Thought i'd share that with you,
Mike
