So I'm starting the program over. I stopped on Session 6 in December and recently decided to start all over again. The first time around I really didn't listen to the relaxation cd every day as suggested. I have two questions for all of you doing the program now, or who did the program successfully:

1. Is there a particular time of day that you listen to the relaxation cd?
2. If you don't like the relaxation cd that came w/ the program is there an alternative one you listen to that you found on your own?

Thanks! :)

Hi T,

I am just getting to session 4 this week, and may go back to session 2 and 3 for a quick review. From the moment, I first got my package to present day, I have not gotten over, listening to the so called relaxation cd.

I agree as it first starts it gets you to relax, or at least it did me. What came to me near the end of the cd were the very things that I am so frustrated about, and out the window went the relaxation and only pity and self pity set in. All it did was make me angry. I wanted to smash that cd, because it just made me crazy, but thought better of it, I was determined to return this stuff.

I have told this story before, or have had discussion about my dislikes, so I'll just say that one thing lead to another and gave it another try, but I do not use that CD. I listen to other relaxation music and got back to my favorite music CCM.

I have posted so many links to these locations that I didn't think anyone could have missed them, but there are so many people that visit, mostly new and some old that have left and return every so often.

I am beginning to understand why some people do not post links to anything. I always thought that they either didn't know how to post a link or that their efforts at guidance were half hearted.

Here are a few places I use:

http://www.klove.com/music/listenonline.aspx

http://www.shirleycason.com/

I just did a google search and here is one that might be good:

http://www.origenmusic.com/relaxation-music.html (lots of variety)

perhaps if you do a site search, using key words you can find some other posts here that may yield more alternatives to relaxation music.

I wish you continued success as you move forward and through what you may be going through.

If I can be of further help, please do not hesitate to contact me and I will be as a good friend to listen or read you out, and as best I can, I will give it my best to encourage and support you.

BTW, If you have cable tv service or other subscription based tv, nearly all provide music options or channels. One of these services is called scoundscapes that is good too.

If I seem to ramble a bit, please forgive me. I know that I can be a jerk a lot of times.

Thanks for replying and posting the links, Gman. I know I've seen posts before about this, but didn't feel like scouring all the posts and didn't think of doing a site search. Thanks for the suggestion!

I have a hard time listening to the relaxation cd but I know it's important for my progress. I am just going to have to force myself to listen to it until I find an alternative that I like! :)

I found the ralaxation CD very helpful, but I found myself getting bored with it. So I am now looking for a different one.

At first I found the relaxation tape foolish and I could not get into it. Now, I like it and I can go to sleep while listening to it. i am behind on the cds so I plan on starting again. I have a difficult time relaxing and I don't want anyone around when I feel down.

hey Jcat,

I too have a hard time relaxing. My body always seems so tense. I began taking yoga and have noticed many changes such as the muscles in my legs and lower back are no longer tense. Each week it gets better. Lavender is a very soothing scent that I recommend to anyone and everyone with anxiety. I have incense, pillow spray, oil, and shower gel. It is quite soothing. On top of that, I found the relaxation CD to help very much. The only problem is that I fall asleep through it. I may have to try it sitting up because at night, her voice just calms me and I am out for the count. I am glad you gave the cd another shot and are finding comfort from it.

HI, I tried the relaxation CD, but didn't really care for it. I like to have my own mental picture of a relaxing place.I use other things to relax. But I have a strange problem. Everytime, I listen to any one of the session CD's. and I'm up to session 9. I start to get very sleepy, and even on occassion, I actually fall asleep. Does anyone else have that happen

Hi Hally,

I have never fallen asleep through a session except for one time when I began session 4 at one in the morning. The best advice that I can give you is that if you find yourself falling asleep during the sessions, change the time of day you listen to the CD or try repeating it the following day.

I am so impressed and excited that you are up to disc 9!! That's wonderful!! Do you think the program has been working for you?
