I have been a negative thinker for many years so I realize it may take time to totally recover. I am getting better when it is internal anxiety but when there is an external force, I am having more trouble.

For some time my friend has been trying to convince me to do something minor around the house which may save me money. At the current time I prefer not to and may not choose to. Yet every time I speak to him, he brings it up as something that is high priority and it causes anxiety. I am feeling tense probably because I don't want an argument, am feeling pressure, and am nervous or fearful.

Can someone please offer coping skills here. Thanks in advance.
