My husband is upset with me because I don't want to fly on a trip I had planned on driving. I was once trapped on a boat in a hurricane remnant for 8 hours and locked in a bathroom on the outer deck for an hour by myself and no one could hear me. Needless to say..I don't like feeling trapped. My fear is being on the airplane and needing medical help and can't get help until we land. Of course I had to see a stupid commercial the other day about a lady having a heart attack at 37,000 feet on a plane with 30 kids. And last year I heard of a lady dying from an asthma attack on a flight because they refused to give her oxygen. Can anyone give me some advice or tell me how they coped with fears like this and while having to do it alone? I used to fly before the boating incident and had no fears then.
