Hello Everyone,
Two weeks ago I had a good friend of mine pass away from colon cancer. The doctors had given him six months to live but he lived for two years. He was deaf but he could read lips. When he talked I could understand him because I have been around him for years. He was like a brother to me. I was with him when he was diagnosed and I was there when he was layed to rest. I miss him very much. I remember the fun times and good times we had. We were very good friends. My wife and I went to see him becasue his sister called and told us that it wouldn't be long now. He was at home so we went to see him. He was in and out because he was medicated because of the pain. I'm glad he was awake when we got there and I was able to shake his hand and tell him, you know you are my friend right, and he shook his head yes. At times I went with him to the doctor's and once when he had chemo, I would translate for him and the doctor. Then he got a translater that could sign. I still went with him because he asked me to. I was blown away by the translater. She was rude to me and the doctor. Later on my friend told me she was rude to him and his mom when she went with him to the doctor. I don't know if anyone told her employer or not but to me, you should be there for the person to translate and to make sure everyone understands the person and the doctor and care about the person even though it is your job. She was very rude to everyone. Now I'm not saying that all people who do that are rude but she was. So it got me thinking I would like to go take classes to learn sign language and become a translater for the deaf when they go for doctor visits. So I am going to check into this. I feel like I could do a better job than she did and people with hearing disabilities deserve it. So wish me luck in being able to do it.

Inside Man
Losing a friend
What a way to honor his life...I sure he is smiling right now. I do wish you luck and let your love for your dear friend be your driving force. Everytime you have a doubt think of him..I'm sure he will be an angel to you and walk right along side you
You can do it..just believe. I will say a prayer for you...take care and God bless.

Insideman...I believe that everything happens for a reason. How could you have known this was your mission in life, if you had not experienced the loss of your friend?
I am sooo sorry for your loss, but, I truly believe because of it, great things will be done to make this world a better place.
We only see it part, but, God sees the big picture. I am sure that He allowed this to happen because he knew you would reach out and help sooo many others who are suffering!!!
I am sure that your friend is smiling down upon you, and is soooo proud of you!!!!
You are turning this negative situation into something wonderful!!! It is people like you who make this world a "much" better place to live in!!!!
May God Bless You Is My Prayer!!!
