Is there anyone in our group going through this program to help a youngster? My 12 year old son is struggling with anxiety--so bad today, he couldn't attend school.

Have you used the program yourself. I found that after using the program for myself I was able to apply it to both of my son's ages 11 & 8 and also with my mother. Of course, it takes time and patience and tons of Love. I'm not sure if you are spiritual but when talking to my boys and mother I included some Bible verses to reinforce how and why the practices in this program work. I'm happy to say that if it wasn't for me going through my own ordeal and ordered the program, I wouldn't have known how to handle these life situations as well as I did. Love your son, take comfort in that this will pass with your support, knowlege and understanding how to help him.

My daughter went through a period at about the same age where she had alot of anxiety and she missed a little school too. I just loved her and gave her understanding without making too much of a big deal about it. After a couple months she was over it. I think its all about puberty,it will pass.

Where is the anxiety coming from? Does it pertain to grades, teachers, students or something else? Age 12 up is the beginning of adolescence, a tough time for most of us. Has he reached puberty yet, could sexuality be part of the problem? Just asking. Age 12 is when I reached puberty and it was a difficult time for me. This may not be the problem, but there are a slew of new things he will have to learn how to deal with in the next 5 years. At times it can feel like too much or feel like you are being overwhlemed. A loving, unconditional acceptance approach works very well. The program is excellent in learning how to cope with all of this, but a counselor or psychologist may be helpful as well.
