I am greatly rejoicing :) I just talked to mom at the hospital and all you wonderful people who prayed for my stepdad will be happy to know he's now talking. He's talking some out of his head, but praise God, he's talking. They don't have all the tubes out yet but are hoping they may be able to put him in another room tomorrow. It's been one week today and he's been in the ICU/critical care unit all this time. What a testimony this 86 yr old man will have. I pray he talks more about Jesus and what he did than all his jokes. He can still joke, I don't deprive him of that, I just pray he comes much closer to God thru this. I pray he will have a personal relationship or be open to accepting the Lord in his life. God bless you all for praying and keep on. I will let you know of his progress.

Praise God for that wonderful testimony. I am so glad that he has made it through his journey. I haven't been on in awhile but it is so nice to hear that your dad is getting better, and that the Lord is working on him. God bless you.

Today while we were at the hospital they transferred him to a beautiful room along the river and the waiting room faces the river and where the helicopter lands. There's also boats and even pelican!! He commented and said was that the helicopter I was on. He then mentioned some pelican type bird..albatraz??? not sure, made me think of alcatraz. Anyhow, he was right. He did make some comment about it doesn't get dark till llpm. I don't know where that came from. He had to answer many questions from way back in his history and did amazingly well. They got him up and he walked a tiny bit with the walker. He made a comment the bad news is "I'll have to stay here 2 wks.". I don't think it will be that long. Mom said he'll push himself to do everything they say cuz he'll want to get out of there.

I so want him to realize it was all the prayers that brought him out. I wanted to get one of those music cards on encouragement. It plays "How great is our God, sing with me, how great is our God ....etc. I love that song. I sent it to someone it jail. It came back because of wrong address and now I can't find another one. His family is not Christian and I want so much for him to realize God has spared his life for a purpose. I had an opportunity to pray for a woman who's husband is dying. In the critical care unit he was at I think it was 3 now that have died. You wonder how did God have such favor on our family? I still struggle with my relationship w/mom and probably always will. I love mom but she doesn't realize how her words hurt me. She's never praised me for anything other than clothes or jewelry, hair style. All my life I've been in her shadow. She constantly copies my hairstyle or things I do. Today she brings out glasses saying they're like mine but she doen't have to wear hers like I do. She only needs them for reading. She constantly has to hear how much we look alike and how young she is. This woman I prayed for when asked if we looked alike hesitated and IMMEDIATELY mom said well everyone else thinks so! Can someone tell me how to stop getting offended by her? This is a lifelong problem which many times being around her leads to depression. It becomes very draining.

Barb,

What a great blessing!!! I knew from reading your first post that he would recover, my god 86 and still riding a motor bike! God bless him, he is a fighter. It was not his time honey. I will keep him and your family in my prayers.

God Bless,
Debbie
