The Healing Power of Laughter

One of the greatest stress relievers God has given us is laughter. It not only makes us feel better, but it actually releases healing throughout our system. When we laugh, it restores and rejuvenates what the pressures of life have taken out.

Proverbs 17:22 puts it like this, "A happy heart is like a good medicine and a cheerful mind works healing." Notice, when we're good-natured and full of joy, taking time to laugh and play, it's like taking a good medicine. That's what helps us to stay healthy. People that laugh regularly are 40% less likely to have a heart attack than people that don't laugh regularly. Laughter triggers the right side of the brain, which helps release creativity and helps us to make better decisions.

There is too much sickness in our world today. Much of it is related to sadness. It's directly related to the fact that we don't smile enough. We live uptight and stressed out.

But even during trials and hard times, God says to us, "I've got a solution. In difficulties, cheer up. In famine, laugh. Keep your joy." You can laugh your way to victory, to better health and to more energy.

God knows the end of the story. He knows the final outcome. The good news is you and I win. God always causes us to triumph. We should have a spring in our step, a smile on our face, joy in our hearts and unshakeable faith. God's plan for our lives is for good and He has the answer to our every question. Knowing this, we can laugh at the days ahead!

After I posted this Joel Osteen inspirational, I read it again and something came to mind. Actually I've been thinking about this for a couple of days..How many of you out there can relate to me??? I've noticed that I DO NOT laugh as often as other people?? Like REALLY laugh? When I think about it, I am a REAL serious person  I need to "chill out" and relax... :D I think that sometimes we get so caught up in "fixing ourselves" that we forget to just LAUGH & have FUN! I get so excited when God reveals these things to me...I KNOW that complete healing is in the works!!!

Blessings~

I have read a few of your postings... you actually were the only person to respond to one of mine "fear my BF is cheating"... I just want to say that from everything I've read and by looking at your pic you are a beautiful person inside and out... How far along in the program are you?

E-lo awwwwwwww thanks you are TOO kind! Yeah, I remember your post about your bf, how's that going? I have been in the "program" for 2 yrs. I cannot believe it's been that long! Wow, where did that time go? I've made leaps and bounds, and I owe it all to God and this program!!! I am Panic attack free however, I still have my bouts with "pureO"(obsessive scary thoughts) but their few and farther between now. I finally figured out how to "float" with the feelings...
anyways, hope your doing well and that things are looking up for you!?
take care and God bless
again, thanks for the kind words.

Hi mom (hehe) You know what I've noticed? People of our "kind" are very good looking... I find that kind of weird.. why would such good looking people be insecure?... Ahhhh Life lol... Well I made a decision a few minutes ago to start the program over... I haven't been applying myself the way I need to or want to... I was almost done with week 2 and just read the workbok and realized there is WORK TO PUT IN!!! So I'm going to start over and be more positive this time... I know it's a process and for some reason I was hoping it would be easier... I'm a very challenging person so I will put my best foot forward (is that how u say it? LOL) Anyway things have changed in my life a lot since I started 2 weeks ago and I think I understand what this program does... and I'm very very optimistic now... Well to answer your question things have gotten a little better with my boyfriend since then... I've also been more assertive and let him know a couple of things that led to my uneasiness... (where normally I'd just swallow everything) I was afraid he'd get upset and then was afraid if he got upset that he would see my flaws and insecurities and would go find what he's missing in someone else... But guess what? He did none of the above... He told me he'd work on whatever was bothering me :oD... Hello Miss Assertive!!! LOL... Everything will be good and I know it... I can't wait... I mean I CAN wait... Take care talk to you soon
