Rest for Your Soul
Today's Scripture- Joel Osteen
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” (Matthew 11:28).
Today's Word from Joel and Victoria
God wants to give you rest. He wants to refresh and restore your soul, which is your mind, will and emotions. It’s so easy to get caught up in the busyness of life, and before long, your mind, will and emotions are so “spun up” that you can barely think straight! But even among the hustle of life, you can find rest, ease and relaxation. God wants you to enjoy your life. That’s why He tells us to come to Him. When you understand that God wants to take care of everything that concerns you, you will be able to find rest. Imagine that someone came up to you today and said, “Give me all your monthly bills, I’m going to pay them.” You’d get pretty excited, wouldn’t you? But it wouldn’t happen until you did your part to give that person your bills. They couldn’t pay them for you if you never release them. In the same way, when we release our cares and concerns to God, He promises to take care of them. Choose today to release your cares to the Lord. As you do, you’ll find that rest that He promises, and you’ll live the abundant life He has for you!
A Prayer for Today
Father in heaven, today I humbly come to you. I choose to cast my cares on You so that I can live in Your rest. Thank You for Your goodness to me. Help me find ways to share Your goodness with those around me today. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Absolutely AMAZING!! Again, Mom of 6, thank you for your post! I signed on, with every intention of starting my own string, to which I was going to title it, "Witness"...as I felt so compelled to share the goodness and direction that I've received from God. The short of my story; I've struggled with panic & anxiety for probably 15 years now...some days better than others! After my job (of the past 13+ years) being eliminated this past spring, I REALLy slipped into a "funk"...I prayed for help & direction. Not only do I want to get better; I don't want for my kids to pick up on the bad habits that I've evidently acquired over the years...I wouldn't wish this disorder on anyone...certainly not our kids. I'd seen the infomercials & radio blurbs for this program; although wanting to try it out, I never took action to order it...in answer to my most recent prayers for help in conquering this disorder, I received an EMAIL, directly to ME, promoting a special on this program...OK God, I see that you've tried sending me this life-line numerous times before...kinda hard to ignore this in my IN-box...I ordered and am working my way (slowly) thru the program and EVERY day am extremely grateful for the program and the power of everyone's post/positive input!
Today, I'm struggling a great deal...my spouse is in law enforcement. Today he is to work at an event in town, in addition to his regular shift, that has historically been dangerous...there's been alot of crime in our area lately, some directed AT police, not to mention that the temps are very hot...with that, seems people's fuses run a tick shorter and the least thing can set some people off. All that said, I'm having a great deal of anticipatory/negative anxiety about his safety & well being...I'll just be SO glad to see him walk thru the door! All that said, to say that in the mail TODAY came a piece of "junk mail"..with a verse from Philippians 4:6, which states, "Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God." Who says it's "junk mail"!!! Then, I sign onto this forum and see Mom of 6's post...which also sums up what I need to do in order to find the peace that I need and that I (hopefully) can convey to our kids...I KNOW with my heart that we're in the palm of God's hand and that the hubby will arrive safe & sound...it's just that my head sometimes wants to get in the way! Thank you God, for hearing our prayers and easing the burdens of our hearts...you've got my attention, loud & clear, thru email, postal mail system and now this great forum! I'm very blessed and continue to work on letting go and letting God!
Thanks for letting me go on & on!!
May God bless one & all!

Hi Tracy!
Isn't it amazing the daily confirmation God gives us if we only listen? (Personally, I ask him for LOUDrepetition;*).)
I cannot imagine how difficult it must be as a spouse to an officer- what an under-appreciated profession.
Blessings to you and you family,

fischee...it IS amazing...God's answers sometimes almost knock you over, if you're not watching!!
A very special, "thank you" to your acknowledgement of the "under appreciated" profession of police officers! Just that comment makes me feel better already! I've had our kids say "thank you for being here", to fellow officers on our department, when we've been out at public events and they've been asked to be in attendance for security...the expressions received from them is PRICELESS...they have no idea that the kids saying thank you are children of a fellow officer...they're SO appreciative to be appreciated (who isn't??!!!)...anyone reading this should try it sometime!
