Stress Center Peer Support

Back in the fall I was diagnosed with anxiety/depression and I battled it for 5 months. I went to my church every weekend and had the elders of my church pray for me. One day I was healed-the anxiety and depression just went away in the snap of your fingers! I was so thankful. As time went on I seemed to have forgotten where my blessing came from and I stopped going to church and I stopped talking to God daily. Now I may be dealing with a relapse of anxiety/depressionand I need His help again but I am ashamed to ask for it. I was wondering if He will forgive me once again for being selfish once again.

God has already forgiven you. He knows we aren't perfect and that we will always make mistakes and wrong choices. God doesn't want you to be ashamed, so put yourself back together and get that conversation going again. Be sure to notice the positive thing you have going on: You found a way that helped you conquer the anxiety and depression. It worked once and it will work again. Have a great weekend and be glad that you know the power of faith.

How powerful for you that you not only have the cognitive behavioral therapy tools offered in the program but an incredible faith as well!
You are well armed for regaining control over your anx/depr. So, be encouraged. Give yourself permission to go back and pick up where you left off spiritually. I believe that God enjoys blessing our humility and courage like any loving parent. You've got support and you can do this.

OF COURSE THE LORD WILL FORGIVE YOU! Jesus died on the cross for all of our sins, not just some of them! Don't be ashamed to repent and ask God for healing! He wants us to come to him and repent and talk to him and ask him for help. You may be getting anxiety over not talking to God and that may be the reason that it is back. It may be that you need him and you feeling guilty over yourself not talking to him like you should has caused it to come again. Girl, talk to God he is always there. He is there for you whenever you need him. Ask him to end this fear and get back into your spirtiualty and you will see all the pieces come back together in your life. God bless you!

I could have written your post. The good news is that the Lord always welcomes us back. It fact, He never left our sides. We strayed. We know what we have to do and that we have to give Him honor and praise. Soon, all will be as it should be- thank the Lord!

:p Melony, you should never be ashamed to ask God for anything, never. He is always there for us and will never turn his back on us. It's us that leave him, but he never left you. Lord, help Melony to rememeber that no matter how dark her situation may become, You are the light of her life and can never be put out. No matter what dark clouds settle on her life, You will lift her above the storm and into the comfort of Your presence. Only You can take whatever loss she experiences and fill that empty place with good. Only You can take the burden of her pain and dry her tears. "Hear Melony when she calls, O God of her rightousness! You have relieved her in her distress; have mercy on her, and hear her prayers" (Psalm 4:1). Lord, in times of suffering, or trial, I pray for an added sense of Your presence in Melony's life. She wants to grow stronger in these times and not weaker. She wants to increase in faith and not be overcome with doubt. Melony wants to have hope in the midst of it and not surrender to hopelessness. Melony wants to stand strong in Your truth and not be swept away by her emotions.
Thank You that she does not have to be afraid of bad news because her heart is steadfast, trusting You (Psalm 112:7) Thank You that Melony will walk before You with hope in her heart and life in her body. Even when "her soul melts with heaviness," I pray that You would stregthen her according to Your Word (Psalm 119:28).
Help Melony to remember to give thanks to You in all things, knowing that You reign in the midst of them. Remind her that You have redeemed her and she is Yours and nothing is more important than that! Let her know that when she passes through the waters You will be with her and the river will not overflow her. When she walks through the fire she will not be burned, nor will the flame touch her (Isaiah 43:1-2). That's because You are a good God and have sent Your Holy Spirit to comfort and help her. I pray that You, O God of hope, will fill Melony with all joy and peace and faith so that she will "abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit" (Romans 15:13). Thank You that You have sent Your Holy Spirit to be her Comforter and Helper. Remind Melony of that in the midst of difficult times.

Beloved, do not think it stange concernig the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened to you; but rejoice to the extent that you partake of Christ's sufferings, that when His glory is revealed, you may also be glad with exceeding joy. 1 Peter 4:12-13

May the God of all grace, who called us to His eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after you have suffered a while, perfect, establish, strengthen, and settle you. 1 Peter 5:10

Wait on the Lord; be of good courage, and He shall strengthen your heart; wait, I say, on the Lord! Psalm 27:14

Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted. Matthew 5:3-4

The Lord shall perserve your going out and your coming in from this time forth, and even forevermore. Psalm 121:8

Melony God is always there for us no matter what. God always forgives us, always! Stand strong in the Lord! I pray in Jesus name that you overcome your anxiety and depression.

Of course God will forgive you. He says He will, and the Bible is full of examples of such situations like yours. The entire Old Testament is a love story of God and His people. Over and over, they left Him, and He always forgave them and welcomed them back. You are no different.
