So yet another health scare is coming up, I have a swollen parotid (salivary gland) that is not going away, and now have to see an ENT to determine what is going on and how to resolve it. My pcp thinks a simple blocked gland, I of course have much scarier thoughts going on. I can't seem to stop thinking the worst, going from A to Z and skipping everything in between, you know? I'm praying hard and trying to be strong and just see this through, but am really panicking...please pray for me? :(

Hugs, Tara

Bttrfly,

I will pray for you. I believe in the power of prayer. I am the same way you are. Everytime something happens, I always think the worse. Oh, it must be my heart, or my brain, or my blood sugar, or whatever else I can think of. I'm trying to stop doing that, because that makes the anxiety worse. I have been checked out several times (at the emergency room) and everything always comes back fine, so it's just the anxiety. It really does a number on you. Hang in there. Keep on the program and don't give up. I just started week 4 yesterday, and I have made great improvements. I still have anxiety everyday for now, but I am able to talk myself down now, where before I would end up in the emergency room. Come to the Help Chat Room on Sunday's at 7:00pm also, we have a prayer group that meets then. God Bless, Lori

My brother in law had the same thing. They controlled it a few times with meds, but he eventually had to have it taken out, but the surgery went very well and he also suffers from anxiety and panic attacks, so you can do it too.

Thank you all for taking the time to post. I truly appreciate everyone for taking time to do that, it means a lot. I'm still waiting for the ENT referral, will keep folks posted, but your posts remind me that He will help me through it!

Hugs and have a safe, Happy New Year! Tara
