I just love the Lord. I am so thankful for his mercy.
Our pastor was talking about submitting to the Lord, then resisting the devil and he will flee. When it says devil, it is also referring to FEAR, fear is from the enemy and not from God.

Then he (my pastor) started talking about the WORD OF GOD being a two edged sword. The word is our weapon. Not only do we need to be replacing our scary thoughts with "positive" ones, we need to be replacing them with the word! Every scripture dealing with fear. The word is more powerful than our own words. "It goes forth and accomplishes what it was set out to do."

Let's incorporate the word in the battle. (The mind is the battlefield...)

Such as:
"I was not given the spirit of fear, but POWER, LOVE AND A SOUND MIND."

Those of us who are christians need to remember that this is our most powerful weapon against this anxiety. The anxiety is what the bible would refer to as a "stronghold."

It says, "Are weapons are not carnal, but mighty before God for the overthrow and DESTRUCTION of STRONGHOLDS!"

What is effective against these strongholds? It says our weapons. What are our weapons? One weapon is the word of God.

"For we have the mind of Christ."

Any other scriptures on "fear" that anyone could add? We need to be quoting these aloud, and daily! SPEAK them out of your mouth.

Excellent point. Thanks for reminding us.

Thou will keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on thee because he trusts You.

Trust in the Lord with all your heart,
Lean not on your own understanding,
In all your ways acknowledge Him
and He will direct your paths.

Be anxious for nothing but
in all things, through prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known unto God and the peace of God, which passes all understanding, will keep your hearts and minds though Jesus.

Be not afraid for I am with you,
Be not dismayed for I am your God.
I will help you, I will strengthen you,
I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness.

Psalm 23
John 14

Lord, I praise you for your love and forgiveness. I praise you for your word. I thank you for being with us. Help us Father to
raise up the hands that hang down. Show us a little glimpse of Heaven just in time today.
Amen.

Thank you FrancesL. Why is it when things start going better we think we can do things on our own. What a joke!! Without him I can do nothing. He is the vine and we are the branches...hmmmm. a little pruning needed??? I know I gotta get back to the vine. Thanks!

I am new to the program and I read this posting and thought I would add a verse.

The Lord is my light and my salvation
whom shall I fear?
The Lord is the stronghold of my life
of whom shall I be afraid?

Good reading to go along with this program:
"Living Fearlessly", by, Sheila Walsh
She writes so beautifully and no matter what page you are reading it touches your heart and soul.

I am pretty much in my house and reading the bible or passages from books that help me get through the day but can't wait to make it back to church to just feel bettter in that presssence. I appreciate all the posts because it motivates me to get to the car and go to church. thanks everyone.

Timothy 2 1:7
For god had not fiven us the spirit of Cowardice, Craven, Cringing Fear;
BUT of POWER and of LOVE and SOUND MIND, well blanace DISCIPLINE and SELF CONTROL.

To God be the glory in the name of the LORD JESEUS CHRIST
