Hi Susan,
This IBS, reflux, stomach pain is exactly why my health practitioner suggested I do this course. My stomach issues are definitely related to my anxiety. I have tried so many prescriptions... with no relief, and often more pain. I have tried to change my diet, eat healthier foods, eat earlier in the day (so the reflux doesn't bother me at bedtime), drink lots of water, and try to exercise (which I am on again off again with).
I am currently in a flair, that has been going on 2 months. I have a lot of bloating an pain in my lower abdomen at this time. My doctor is once again doing blood tests, scans, and then I'll have another check with the gastro. It's been about 4 years since I've had that whole gastro eval... and they didn't find anything but a hiatal hernia, reflux and then announced it was probably IBS. It is a frustrating chronic problem that most people don't understand. I don't understand it. I have flairs that last a week and go away, and then huge flairs like this one that can last months. And then just nagging discomfort day after day, that can get worse or almost disappear in the course of a day.
I am always open to suggestions! I am hoping that with this program I can figure out what I can do to help myself, and stick to it! I know that if I walked every day that would be a big help, but there are days I just won't push myself out that door.
I do a lot of deep breathing to try to relax, but like you sometimes I don't feel like I can breathe in very deeply. I am hoping to use the relaxation cd to work on that.
It's nice to meet you all, and I look forward to going through this journey together.
Pax
