Ulcerative Colitis and the panic attack "ice droplet."

Post by Truthworldwide » Tue Jun 05, 2018 12:01 pm

Sharing ulcers and anxiety is an awful thing. For a long time I believed that the ulcers (discovered in 2007) were caused by the anxiety.

I'm sure anyone reading this has had their stomach "tense" when a panic attack, or an obsessive, scary thought hits them. The feeling, to me, always seems like a cold teardrop of pain, falling into my stomach.

I'm uncertain what this actually is... adrenaline response? muscle spasm? diaphragm hiccup?
How does one combat these physically? The mental aspect is 80% of the battle but even after positive self talk, ten steps to calm down, staying in the precious present moment, and all the other weapons in our arsenal, I still get them.

A recent breakup with a girl I was extremely fond of brought on so many of these I left work early. (Of course, sleep was effected so I was on @ 12 hrs over 3 days!) But they are BRUTALLY crippling.

Thoughts?
