I have inflammatory bowel disease, which is different from
irritable bowel syndrome and the treatment is quite different.
But something strange has happened during the past two months.
I have been having severe constipation ! The ulcerative colitis
that I have causes me to have diarrhea all of the time. I have
had the colitis for 17 years. Does anyone know what can cause
a person to have diarrhea for many, many years to become
severely constipated. This is a mystery for me. I am seeing my
Primary Care Physician this week. I want a referral to see a
Gastroenterologist as soon as possible. I have no idea what is
wrong with my colon now. I used to think that the constant
diarrhea caused me great distress on a daily basis, but I also
find that the severe constipation is causing me much anxiety too.
I have no idea what is going on.
