How do I know if I have IBS?

It seems like once or twice a month I get really bad cramps. It's so bad I can't even hold my baby. It comes on all of a sudden, last about 1-2 hours then goes away. Sometimes there is diahrea or vomiting with it, sometimes it's just the pain. Is this IBS?

You should talk to your doctor about this.

Some doctors thought I had IBS years ago and that diagnosis was wrong.
Later on, with some more thorough testing and a better doctor, I
was diagnosed with IBD, Inflammatory Bowel Disease. This disease
does not go away and has to be controlled by diet and medication.

I cannot believe I posted here almost a year ago !

I am still around and I will be checking out this website on a more regular basis.

Is anyone out there who remembers me ?

I was posting a lot during 2011 and 2012.

Life is finally looking toward the sunnier side for me. It's about time !

hi I do remember you. I talked with you back then. I was worried about you. You were weaning off your medication and I never heard from you. I was fearing the worst. tell me what went on during that time. I went off Prozac and had a very bad time. I had a hard time getting back on ant depressants. I am on celexa and getting a little better. I am going thru the program again and trying to start driving places by myself. I am still not working and need to find a new life for myself. Is your mother doing okay. I am so glad to see you again on here.

Hi forever young:

Unfortunately I was not doing well at all while I was not posting here.
I went through a lot during that time and I am really lucky that I am
still alive and well in order to write this post today.
My mother died late last year. Last year was not good for her at all.
She was sick for about six months. She died of lung cancer.
Christmas Day of 2013 was the first Christmas for me where I was totally alone by myself.
It was a very weird feeling to be all alone on Christmas Day, but I did okay.
I have one sister and she lives in another state.
It is very weird to be here all alone with no family and no support system.
I DO have the phone numbers of four people that I met recently and I
am hoping that THEY will be support people for me. I haven't had new
friends for a very long time.

Something good is coming your way, I just know it !
